The last session of GTA, I started off by running over a guy with my car, but he got back up, so I started rolling the car over his body over and over until I knew he was dead. I had no apparent reason of doing this, but since this is being a video game it allows me to do things in the game that I would never do in real life. That’s what fun about this game because even if you are not a violate person in the real world, you can be in the virtual word. If I was upset about something I wouldn’t go killing someone with my car, I can go to my video games and do it. It really is somewhat of a stress reliever and allows me to be a person that I’m really not on the inside. Also I don’t have to suffer the consequences of doing such acts.
Once again, I go around and start goofing around and started shooting random people. I just wanted to try and stack my money up, but no one coughed up any money. I was disappointed, but out of nowhere an ambulance came flying towards me (literally it hit a curb and was in the air). It hit a light pole which was very close to me where I almost got hit and could have died if it wasn’t for that pole. I noticed that I had a star for the police coming for my arrest. Then a cop started shooting at me and I had to steal a car to get out of there. It started raining out of nowhere also which was another impressive aspect of the game. After a few minutes of game play, the day starts to change from morning to night. My next mission I had to drive the car with Sweet, Ryder, and another gang banger to go for a drive by on the Baller gang. I drove up on three different groups of Ballers in their territory and I just ran up on a couple of them by running the car into them, killing them instantly, and they would eliminate the rest of them. I noticed the money on the ground and guns so I hopped out of the car to get it. Ryder called CJ a scrub and they was telling CJ to get back in the car. The police star rose to three, so I had to make a run for it in the car with my homies and had to head to a car shop. The cops was on us way harder than last time so I kept getting shot at, running into walls and cars, and just thrashing the car period. By the time I got right in front of the car shop, the car got on fire, so I hopped up out of there and left my homies to die, which would happen because the car blew up ending the mission. I guess the creators of the game weren’t smart enough to have the computer controlled characters to have sense enough to get out. So since I failed the mission and my time was coming up on playing the game, I decided to go out with some kind of bang and got to beating up on random people and one cop, stole his motorcycle, then drove around until the cops cornered me. I started to fight the other cops I was close by while the other one’s was shooting me and then I died.
I did that to take out my frustration of the police and their corrupted ways. Also for remember what the L.A.P.D. did to Rodney King in the 90’s. Overall the whole feel of the game was accurate as far as racism, police corruption, gang violence’ fast food, and drug usage goes. I knew doing the things I did in the game was wrong, but it felt good doing it because I felt I did something right as far as completing the missions and progressing in the game. Ethical System is exactly what it is, designing a game to explicitly require certain kinds of behavior and activities in order to succeed.

The second go around in San Andreas, I wanted to play around a little bit, so I got to beating on women around CJ’s house. Morally, beating on women is wrong and not respectful. Men who beat women are considered a coward, but the main reason why I did it was because I could. GTA is just like real life as far as freedom goes. You can do whatever you want, but you would have to suffer the consequences of doing things like this. In the game with nobody being around, I got away with it. I didn’t feel good beating on the women even though I got money out of it, but the fact that I was able to get away with it, is what’s crazy. Now I pressed my luck by actually staring a fight with a prostitute and what caught me by surprise was that she had a gun! I was startled at the time and I was trying to fight her with my fist, but got shot and killed after a couple seconds (whatever happen to feminism and the ethics of care?). That was karma to me and it taught me a lesson: if you beat on random women in the street, you will get shot and killed. But I guess prostitutes have to protect themselves because it is a dangerous profession.
I was taken to a hospital, just like in real life but once you’re dead, you’re dead! The first thing I did when I got out of the hospital was steal a car to go to Sweet’s to do a mission. When CJ arrived at this guy house with Sweet, CJ was called a “bitch”, the use of profanity is abundant in this game also the use of the “nigga” is used way too much. I can’t complain though because for this game to be as realist as it can be, amongst the black community “nigga” is used a lot, which is sad but I can’t do anything about that just like people in the world today try to speak against the use of that word, they really can’t do anything about it thanks to the First Amendment. Plus it’s too many people in the world to try and stop everyone from saying it.
In the game, CJ is told to certain missions and each time he is asked or told to do it, he agrees to do it without hesitation. He is not even given an option no matter how wrong it is. Mainly the point of the game is to do morally wrong things, but they could give the gamer an option with a different outcome. Along with CJ doing all the bad stuff, he is always told to drive Sweets or Ryder’s car around the city, like he’s their chauffer or their child. It helps me get better at driving in the game, but who lets someone else drive their car all the time. I think in situations like this in the real world, people can get set up like that. I go beat up one drug dealer in front of his home and take his bat that he pulled out on me. Which I felt good about beating the living hell out of someone with a weapon. I felt that way because I was at a disadvantage and overcame a danger of being killed again.
We go over to the Crack Den to beat up 2 crack dealers inside their home and with Ryder by my side I knew we would walk out victorious. We both had bats and they were caught off guard. I like how they had a feel for a place that sold drugs which is usually referred to as a Trap House instead of Crack Den. We were there to shoe the Baller street gang that the Grove street gang was rising again to run Los Santos. Drug usage is heavy in the game, every time I saw Ryder was smoking a blunt. I go to a fitness place to lift weights so I want be skinny and weak, which is another great thing about GTA, its damn near close to real life. You have to eat so you can have energy, get a haircut, workout, and even buy clothes. This comes to an end of my second session of GTA.

Going back to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with a different approach of playing to see all the moral ethics of the game makes me see the game in a whole new light. That light not necessarily being all positive aspects of the game. I have to admit around the time this game came out; it is astonishing on how accurate the creators were able to recreate the sense and feel of being in California, specifically Los Angeles. Right from the jumpstart the main character C.J. is making his way back to Los Santos from the east coast because his mother died. As soon as he gets in a taxi to go home, Los Santos police stops the taxi and puts C.J. in their cop car. Instantly, I was able to recognize the way the cops were abusing their authority and the relation to the notorious L.A.P.D. Policemen in Los Angeles is known for their harassment and brutality towards people especially African Americans.
Officer Tenpenny is the main cop that is familiar with CJ as they talk about their past and how they are keeping an eye on CJ. For what reason does these cops have to be on a look out for CJ after just coming back from Libertyville? They were just being complete dicks and abusing their authority. They also had a gun that was used by another criminal that killed a cop. They threaten CJ that they would use take gun against him if he is caught doing something illegal. This displays the corruption of the LAPD but not just limited to them, it happens throughout America.
After the cops drop me off into enemy territory, I made it back to the Johnson’s home where CJ mom lived. CJ is bashed by his brother Sweet and fellow gang member Ryder for ditching the gang and leaving Los Santos. I can see that family and friends is important to CJ so he goes along with Sweet and Ryder to whatever they wanted to do. I think CJ just wants to be accepted especially just coming back from the east coast. The only thing is that CJ is being called out of his name by everyone he has a conversation with in the beginning of the game. That’s why the missions CJ are sent on, gives him a little respect each time I completed them. I can see after a while they don’t call him a “bitch” or bad name because he’s getting respect amongst his peers. In real life that is exactly how it goes, people do things for the money and respect of others.
After being shot at by the rival gang, the Ballers, Sweet feels that him and CJ need to spray over the rival gangs tag on the walls in the city. One of the tags I was about to spray over was right near a couple of Ballers; right when I was done spraying over their tag I get into a fight with both Ballers. I was able to beat both guys and I was awarded with money. I felt like a man after I was able to beat both gangbangers up and take their money. I was told to get food from the Pizza restaurant and right after CJ eats his food, Ryder comes in to try and rob the place. The workers knew it was Ryder and once Ryder looked away, the pizza man had a shotgun and started firing at us. My adrenaline was pumping a little bit in my body because of me having to get those guys out of that situation. When I’m playing this game, I feel like I am CJ and I get paranoid of being shot at or police are watching me. I’m practically in the game just by controlling everything CJ was told to do.
