kamendex's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1049Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Mon, 17 Aug 2009 09:03:20https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3828This is my third playing session. I had to go back to the parking lot to save, so this is where my game picks up. Last time I played, after gaining some items and seeing the cut scene with the Frankenstein play, I saved and logged off. Ill pick up from where I last left off. At this point, every fight I encounter I make sure to press auto play Napalm bombs really come in handy. I entered the library. The only challenge here was three teachers that attacked together. They really did not put up a fight. A cut scene initiated when I approached the windows. Eric had a shoot out with the cops. After the shoot out, Dylan asks Eric if he wants to commit suicide now. I'm giving the choice of killing more students or ending my own life. Another cut scene begins, this one talks about what the boys could have done. They talk about going to New Zealand and avoiding the natural selection in America. They also talk about hijacking a plane and crashing it into the Trade centers. Eric explains that its better to die so they don't have to experience what Kip Kinkle experienced. Kinkle received 111 years in jail for the murder of his parents and a school shooting. A montage played after Eric and Dylan committed suicide. It showed pictures of their bodies after they committed suicide. It also showed pictures of the two boys at different points in their lives. It humanized them because as the player I got to see them as children growing up. After the cut scene, I found myself in hell. The sign that welcomed me told me to abandon all hope in this place. I followed the path; it took me deeper into hell. I found demon soldiers and imps waiting for me. Only armed with my pistol, the enemies in hell were formidable. In fact, the third npc I fought killed me. The game ended at that point for me. All that's left now is to analyze what I played. The one thing I've noticed when reading other peoples game logs is that they are shocked by the content of the game. Some go so far as to say, “the game isn't for me”. If you actually think about it, this game is less violent then the last game we had to log about. San Andreas is infinity more destructive and chaotic then Super Columbine Massacre RPG. The only difference between the games is the fact that Columbine actually happened. I noticed that a lot of the anger Eric and Dylan had was focused on the idea of survival of the fittest. They believed that they were being abused by those more fit for society, and in order to regain some control in their lives, they decided to murder their oppressors As gruesome as that sounds, is it any more violent then going back to the hood to kill rival gangsters? I don't think so. I actually got to enjoy more of the RPG elements of the game today. I equipped Dylan and Eric with the gear I had acquired. My stats went up with every piece of gear I equipped. The Marlyn Manson CD and Doom cd both gave stats. None of the bombs I planted earlier in the game exploded, the only thing left to do was to go inside the building itself and gain exp from killing students. The students were grouped by clicks such as jocks, awkward, and pretty people. Killing the students rewarded me with items and exp. Every time I would pick up an item, the game would say: "its all yours brave boys!". I felt as if I was being rewarded for violence. I went into my first class room, I killed the various students and one teacher. I gathered luvox and cheeseburgers. I went into the boys bathroom and found some jock types beating up a little kid. Eric yells at them and initiates a fight with 4 enemies. Saving the kid rewarded me with four med kits, Eric did not kill the kid. In one class room I found "Ecco Homo" by Nietzsche. In another room I downloaded the ability to make and use a napalm bomb with Dylan. It blinds and disorients the targets. I found a locked door, Eric mentioned how we needed a key. Just then a janitor walked by. I killed the Janitor and took the key. Inside the locked room, I found the controls for lighting. The controls cut to a scene that depicted Dylan handling the lighting for a play at their school. The cut scene granted Dylan a level. This time playing I got to experience more of the game elements of Super Columbine. I liked that there were a lot of secret things to discover. Every little thing I found gave a clue as to the things that caused the massacre. I noticed that Eric and Dylan both felt helpless and hopeless. They themselves referred to people with clique terminology. The two boys must have felt that the social contract had betrayed them and thus they were right to avenge themselves. I don't feel any different when playing this game. It seems like I am playing any other violent RPG. Maybe I am desensitized to violence, or maybe this game isn't as violent as other video games. Playing the game was like simulating the life of someone living completely outside the social contract. It was a game through the eyes of someone who only sees cliques. The intro screen has an image of Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris from the columbine massacre. Its an image from a surveillance cam from Columbine High School during the massacre of 1999. The first thing I see when starting a new game is a quite from Andre Breton; “The purest surrealist act would be to go into a crowd and fire at random”. This quote summarizes the game pretty well. The game begins with Eric waking up from his bed to go to class. I get to walk around and explore the room. I triggered the doom game and received it as an item. The message it came with mentioned that this would desensitize me. To the right of Doom was Eric's luvox pills. The message it came with mentioned how the drug kept Eric, aka “Vodka”, from joining the Marines. To get to the next part of the game, I had to call Dylan, aka “Reb”, and make sure that we were going to go through with the plans today. In the basement, I picked up a few things besides the weapons. I picked up a Marilyn Manson Cd which triggered the message: “something that will incite anger and violence”. I also triggered a cut scene when touching the pizza. The cut scene shows the boys blowing up a pipe bomb and explaining where they were getting their guns and money from. They also mention their plans in the future, Reb wanting to join the marines and V going to Arizona State. I also left “one last recording” using the camera. The last recording was basically a message that all of society needs to die and sorry to “my parents”. The car ride to the school came with KFMDF lyrics. I picked up propane bombs from the car, and had to dodge security to plant them in the cafeteria. Eric and Dylan clearly feel betrayed by society, and they feel the need to physically harm those who have harmed them. The game is leading me to believe that Doom, Maralyn Manson, and KFMDF caused them to behave violently. Although the only reason they want revenge is because of the bullying they had suffered during their years in high school. I started this game off in my brand new home which I had purchased legitimately as a fire fighter. I went outside my home and noticed that a police helicopter was hovering over me. I had done nothing wrong, thats racial profiling. After the helicopter incident, my neighbor drove up his expensive looking sedan on his drive way and left it there. I don't think he will mind if I take it for a joy ride. Cruising around for a little while, I decided I wanted money for weapons to defend myself in the first mission. I hijacked a police car and began the vigilante life style. My first mission was difficult, I had to stop a speeding individual in Idle wood with only a police car. I rammed his car until it flipped over, destroying the car and the passenger. I made a 50 dollar profit. On the third mission, I ran into some interesting individuals. Three men, shirtless, with glasses and green shorts. They were armed and dangerous, and it was my job to take them out. I rammed their car into an unmovable area and proceeded to remove them from the vehicle. I ran them over to kill them because one of the criminals had an Uzi. With the three dead I was left with two weapons. A baseball bat, and my first gun. Ive noticed that the premise of this game is really to live the life of someone who has no regard for the rules of the social contract. It is very pleasing to break the rules even if the rules in this case are just in a video game. Being a vigilante was dangerous and rarely profitable, the only bonus was that I could pick up weapons. I was killed in my third mission by a gang of Hispanic men. I found myself at the nearest hospital. I hijacked the ambulance that was parked near me so that I could play as a paramedic. The paramedic game play is much different then vigilante. I am rewarded for save driving. If I don't drive safely, the wounded I am transporting could die. TO this day, the most profitable endeavor I have participated in is firefighting.Mon, 27 Jul 2009 09:40:49 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3792&iddiary=7105Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Sat, 25 Jul 2009 22:49:11https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3783I started a fresh new game. The opening scene takes place in Los Santos airport. The protagonist of the game is named Carl, an african american man. Carl is going home to his house in Grove street to bury his mother. Taking a taxi to his home, Carl is pulled over by some corrupt cops who are after his money and drug racket. Carl intended to stay clean, but these officers wanted him to peddle drugs and pay him. After the confrontation with the officers, Carl is dropped off in rival gang territory and the game really begins. The first moral dilemma I come across is whether or not to steal a bike in order to flee enemy gang territory. Of course I decide to take it. After riding around a little on the bicycle, I stopped at a red light and saw a sweet looking crotch rocket. I decided to punch the guy off and steal the motorcycle, it was an awesome experience. I drove it all the way to Grove street, and started the first mission. The setting mimics Los Angeles a lot. I found out my mother was murdered, along with 3 members of my gang. Lots of gang violence where I live. In the first mission, pink clad gang members performed a drive by on me and my gang buddies. We had to flee via biking. I was murdered on my first mission by a rival gang, the ballers. I was revived at the hospital, they took a portion of my money. I decided to go around driving instead. I hijacked a car from a hispanic lady, the car was called the majestic. It had huge rims. I decided that Ill complete the mission tomorrow, I went to Cj's home and saved the game.
