dakotareese's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=108Boundish (GBA) - Mon, 13 Nov 2006 07:37:12https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=315So last night I discovered that Boundish has difficulty settings which are configurable before each round. The option has always been there, but I just didn't notice it for some reason. There are three difficulty levels: 1, 2, or 3. On level 1, I typically beat the computer in Human League by scores of 5-3. It took roughly 20 minutes to score a point on level 2 last night, and the best I have done is lose by a score of 3-5. It is refreshing to play a game that is genuinly hard again. It reminds me of my 2600 days.Mon, 13 Nov 2006 07:37:12 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=315&iddiary=965Diplomacy (Other) - Mon, 13 Nov 2006 01:04:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=316It is interesting the GameLog doesn't really have support for games of the non-electronic variety. I'm GMing a game of Diplomacy in the EGL, and thinking it should be an interesting gaming expirience to log about. We're trying to pick up two more players, but I will assign countries to players tomorrow and first orders will due Tuesday.Mon, 13 Nov 2006 01:04:39 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=316&iddiary=964Boundish (GBA) - Sun, 12 Nov 2006 23:00:51https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=315I grabbed the EGL's copy of Boundish for the night. I didn't play it all that much when it was assigned for 6325, and wanted to take another pass. I love this game. As recap, Boundish is part of Nintendo's Bit Generation series. The complete series includes Soundvoyager, Orbital, Coloris, Boundish, Digidrive, Dotstream, and Dialhex. I just ordered the complete series from eBay, and I can't wait for them to arrive. Of the five games on the cart, I've spent most of my time tonight playing Box Juggling and Human League. Both of these games are best described as Pong variants and tributes to early moments in videogames. I'm not certain of how I'm feeling just yet, but I think the best way to describe these games is altruistic. It is a concept I'm becoming very interested in. What does it mean when a game privledges the interactions and meanings it creates over its own identity. I don't know. I'll have to play more.Sun, 12 Nov 2006 23:00:51 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=315&iddiary=963
