Wildstar's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1108Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Thu, 29 Oct 2009 11:30:21https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4017Last impressions. I left off with Eric and Dylan being confronted by the police. I had chosen that they end their lives. What happens next is somewhat of a surprise. After learning about how the pair viewed society. How the rich, healthy and beautiful tell others what they should do and not do. We have Dylan it what appears to be Hell. Instead of the normal people we saw before all of the people resemble characters from the game “Doom”. Now it is more than just trying to avoid them as the characters are now going after Dylan. Overall I believe the point of the game was not to glorify what Eric and Dylan did but to show a commentary of what the media at the time would have us believe. Playing “Doom”, watching movies like Natural Born Killers, listening to artists like Marilynn Manson, Nirvana, and Ramestien(sp) will lead one over the edge. I have played these games, watched these movies, listened to these artists and the thought of doing such acts have never entered my mind. Perhaps there is another reason besides the media influence that the pair had the drove them over the edge.Thu, 29 Oct 2009 11:30:21 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4017&iddiary=7539Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Wed, 28 Oct 2009 23:34:30https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4017I played the game some more. Seems there are a lot fewer references than the beginning of the game. Now it seems to be just about killing everyone in sight. I really can’t bring myself to kill many if I can help it. But as I cannot escape the combat if I touch someone I just keep trying to avoid others. There is one thing that is bothering me. I would think that if I saw someone gun down one of my classmates/schoolmates I would not be still running around like nothing happened. Thou I have had to kill a few times it seem odd the point value system I think it might just be a random number. Still looking for more of the insights into the minds of these 2 but it seems it is lacking in this part of the game. Or I just can’t seem to find the right places to look. So the cops are here and I am giving a chance to take my own life. That sounds like the right thing to do. Goodbye.Wed, 28 Oct 2009 23:34:30 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4017&iddiary=7523Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Wed, 28 Oct 2009 07:13:37https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4017I am not really sure what to expect starting the game up. The first thing I noticed was the text. It was just hard to read at times. After going through a bunch of text it became somewhat easier to read. The game has you start the morning of the attack. You assume the role of Eric and go through some of the morning routine. Looking around the bedroom you are able to find a few things like the copy of Doom at the PC “with the power to desensitize a person to violence” other items include a calendar with the date marked and of course a phone to talk to Dylan. Then it’s down to the basement to pick up supplies. Watched a “video” but was not sure where it was from might have to look it that. An odd part was making the video that the 2 left behind. One line that stands out in my mind was Eric saying “I wish I was a ####### sociopath so I didn’t have any remorse. But I do.” It seems at least from the beginning that the focus of the game is to show the items that the media stated caused the 2 to go through the attack and allow the player to think about the correlation. Well back later with more topics.Wed, 28 Oct 2009 07:13:37 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4017&iddiary=7498Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Mon, 21 Sep 2009 20:25:29https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3882I started a saved game. After spending the last session just exploring the environment I started to work on the missions again. The next mission was to stop a rival gang as they went around the neighborhood and did drive-bys. Again I reminded more of vigilante justice more than anything else. But then after the mission to get weapons the next one was to go into the Ballas area and do our own drive-bys after killing many from the rival gangs it’s just a simple matter to have the car repainted and the police are no longer looking for us. I had more trouble doing this mission the going after the car with the Ballas gang members. While under the guise of protecting your neighborhood I can understand confronting the rival gang. I cannot understand the reasoning behind going into the rivals neighborhood and asking them to retaliate. It is possible that you are performing a preemptive strike. To me it still sounds a lot like premeditated murder. Over all I am still unsure of what the draw is to this game. Perhaps the overall sense of freewill that the player has is the draw. It is not as linear as many games. I do not believe that there is a time limit involved in which you have to complete the main story line. I am still unsure if I will ever pick the game up again. I will admit I am more likely to play a game that is a little more fantastical.Mon, 21 Sep 2009 20:25:29 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3882&iddiary=7266Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Sun, 20 Sep 2009 12:19:13https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3882I started the game back up and loaded my save game. Was able to move around much better this time around and was able to get more into the missions available. So most of the missions I have taken so far seem to revolve around the Grove Street gang trying to take back the streets from rival gangs. Again I am reminded that the purpose is to clean up the streets and not just for chaos. Was able to drive around more it seems that I am not the only one that has problems controlling the car it seems that some Non Player Characters (NPC) also have trouble I saw many people hit light poles and other vehicles. I have also noticed that the police do not seem to care if you run a red light as long as you don’t hit them. I am still learning what the excepted moral code is for San Andreas. There is some talking going on by the NPCs but I am not sure if it is being directed at me or just whoever is nearby. I have started to listen to the radio more. There seems to be a relaxed view on what is accepted on the radio as drug references and language seem to be the norm. I am still unable to get much into the story and may just try to explore the game before I continue on the missions.Sun, 20 Sep 2009 12:19:13 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3882&iddiary=7258Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Sat, 19 Sep 2009 11:08:42https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3882Loaded the game and watched the opening cut scenes. So I will be playing a character named CJ and it seems that he left San Andreas 5 years ago. The reason that he left was not made clear yet but perhaps it is part of the main story. He returned to San Andres because his mother was murdered. It is hard for me to understand some of the dialog that goes on during the game but I get the general idea. Over all the gameplay seems to be lacking but that might just be me being used to first person shooters. After getting CJ to his house I have to visit a grave and then we are being attacked by members of a rival gang. As the gang chases using a car we grab bicycles to try to get away. I finely made it. So after some more playing getting used to the control system somewhat I also figured out how to put the subtitles on so I can understand more of the dialog. The city is divided by neighborhoods with gangs controlling most. The Grove Street gang the one CJ used to be part of seems to have a different outlook the other gangs depicted. They seem to want to clean the streets up some and remove the dealers and violence. There seems to be a difference in the morals of the gang members and that of the rest of the population on what is considered normal behavior. The police are depicted as being corrupt a long with the other gangs with their concerns over money and power. While the Grove Street gang seems to want to return things to an earlier way. Thou their methods may be going against the excepted American morals.Sat, 19 Sep 2009 11:08:42 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3882&iddiary=7252
