Bgale's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1338Super Columbine Massaacre (Web) - Thu, 28 Oct 2010 12:56:59https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4471As I finished up this game I analyzed the decision, emotions and events that happened. Looking at this situation from a utilitarianism viewpoint it didn't bring happiness or the greater good to anybody not even Eric and Dylan that began the massacre. I believe only the Devil in the Hell Level got a kick out of this game and the events that have happened. If anything it brought awareness to other schools and parents that children harbor strong emotions from being bullied and that this is a national issue. Even in recent news many children have committed suicide due to bullying. As for the game, it was very interesting to play but I think it should not be open to the public. Even though it was disturbing I appreciated the hell level and the fight with the devil because it will give users the image and thought that if you do things these you will pay consequences. The game should tone down some things, like language, but I feel with the images it gives a powerful statement that some need to see. If there were any bullies playing the game I hope they rethink their actions after playing this game.Thu, 28 Oct 2010 12:56:59 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4471&iddiary=8363Super Columbine Massaacre (Web) - Thu, 28 Oct 2010 11:52:15https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4471Oct. 27, 2010 I picked up the game in the school parking lot. I grabbed the propane tanks and duffel bags out the trunk and went into the school. As I started to really play the game I wondered why they kept using Eric as the player and Dylan as the guy that would be their to reassure Eric when ever he was not sure of the plan. As I went into the school I snuck past children and hall monitors to get to the cafeteria so that I could plant the bombs. I felt uneasy when I went into the cafeteria and planted the bombs under the table by the snack machines. This is where majority of the school would be at lunch time and this is where many of the fatalities would be. I felt that in this game I had no choice whether I wanted to do something or not. I felt in GTA I had more of a choice if I wanted to commit crimes or not (It would be a boring game but it was possible) but in the horrible designed game there was no choice. There was a task and you had to complete it. I could analyze that that's how Eric and Dylan felt. That they had to kill their bullies and torture others. I felt the designer of the game made the person playing it feel as trapped as they did. A As I continued playing the game I wanted to stop playing after I began shooting and killing students and police. With the game being based on actual events it gives you a different mind set. I began thinking about the people that actually went through this situation and how horrible it was. I was only about ten when it happened but I remember the scenario and now being forced to play this game puts me in a different mental state. I really just wanted to stop because I morally felt wrong about planting the bombs, shooting the students, teachers and police. There are so many unethical traits in this game. When my character asked the girl if she believed in God and then shot her I thought that was very unethical. To kill someone based on their religious preference is crazy. When that happened in the game I wanted to just turn it off. Just because you make a game based of real events does not mean it needs to be relived and especially for the public to play. If the creator was to do something where for what ever number of people played to game they would donate to centers that help prevent bullying or protection in schools then Aristotle would see this game as a median where it would bring to light a serious situation and help prevent it from happening again. Knowing the historical events and the fact that this game was based off it the actual massacre I had a different mind set about the game versus when I played GTA San Andres. As I began playing as Eric I could see that he was just a normal teenager that had doubts and fears about the big day. He had loving parents and seem to be taken care of. The only problem was the bullying he endured at school. Dylan seemed more sure of the situation and encouraged Eric not to be a punk and to go through with the plan. -One thing I noticed was that he picked up and talked about the Marilyn Mason album that he listens to to pump him up to do violent things. I remembered in class we talked about this situation and that kids actually took his lyrics to heart and committed suicide. Here is Eric plainly saying that he also loves his music and takes it to heart. I believe this brings up the ethical dilemma of is violent music, movies, and games really damaging to the childs' mind. If Marilyn Mason music helps motivate two teenagers to blow up their school then the music should be questioned about who and who can not listen to it. -Another interesting point was the video clip they watched in the basement before leaving. I was not sure if it was of his father or someone else but the sad story about war and killing another man I felt should have been enough to not encourage Dylan and Kyle to continue with their plans. I thought that was interesting the way the creator added that twist to the story line. -The flashback is what really got me about the two boys. Here they are acting silly, trying to test things out and blow things up when they start talking about their future. One wanted to go to college and the other a marine but they quickly flushed those thoughts down and stuck with trying to level the school down with explosives. They were not monsters, just kids that were tired of being put through pain at school. I feel if there were alternatives for them then they could actually have made it to college and the marines.Thu, 28 Oct 2010 10:19:00 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4471&iddiary=8353Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2) - Tue, 05 Oct 2010 10:37:21https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4394(Oct 3) The third day I played with a friend who happen to know cheat codes. After putting them in I had a abundance of guns and about five hundred thousand dollars to my disposal. I followed no rules after that. Not even the mission. I was out to have fun. I purposely wanted to get as many stars as possible and become a famous wanted man. I had my character Carl shoot police in the head and got a star from that. When I stole his car and drove recklessly down Rodeo Drive I received another. I was actually enjoying the game when I could just go on a killing spree and not worry about getting caught or doing random acts for cash. I used a bat to club a lady for her cash and brass knuckles to kill a cop for his gun (even though I already had enough, I wanted more). I could quickly tell that when playing this game you get so immersed into it that you violate all moral values to have fun. I believe that is the overall objective of the game, to be a horrible citizen to society to gain sex appeal, respect and street cred. There is absolutely no way you can not do wrong in this game and enjoy yourself. You have to steal, kill and destroy to have a good time. Which questions some of the people we live with today that do horrible acts and find them exciting. I think this game could generate thought of breaking moral code because you feel a rush when doing bad. I also can tell the racism in not just San Andres but in other GTA games. If the character wasn't a black thug from the streets then he was a gangsta Italian with the mob. It is giving the world a bad perception of these two types of races. I'm not trying to say that black people, Hispanics or Italians do not engage in some of these of this behavior but they are not the only ones. Why can't the creators make a GTA where a white person or a female violating the law and ethical values? It really pulled the race card when it came to creating this game and I believe that that in itself is violating a moral code. If you have the power to change peoples opinion or shed light about a situation to millions of viewers wouldn't you want that person to be shown in the best way? Well, the creators did their very best to show blacks, italains, and hispanics is the worse situations and in the worse light. I personally don't agree with just choosing a certain type of race to do these horrible crimes. It should be everyone and anyone. Asians and Whites shouldn't be excluded from this but then again they're excluded from any wrong doing in the real world. (This entry has been edited4 times. Doing so, there were so many ethical values I violate to get ahead. ~I decided to drive around the city and see what I would get into. To do so, I had to beat a women and pull her out the car to steal the vehicle. ~While I was driving I had to drive through lights and hit other cars out the way to get to where I needed to go. Completely not obeying any traffic rules. ~When I was low on money, I had to beat a man to death and steal his money. As I was playing I started to notice that I did these unjust acts with ease. I started to say, 'oh, I need twenty dollars for food. Let me go beat this hooker and take her money.' These are things I shouldn't be saying as means to surviving, but then again I blame the creators of GTA of the stereotypical situations my character had to face to survive. I started to really get into the game by killing people in broad day light for money, killing cops so I can take their gun and spray painting rival gangs graffiti right in front of them. I even thought 'fuck the police' as they chased me while I was listening to N.W.A. I see why now my mother would never let my brother play games like this. She was disgusted I even had to play it lol. It is very entertaining which I think is the reason why this game might fuel teenagers and children to do violent acts. I also noticed the gender roles in this game. Of course it over sexualized the women and made them all prostitutes that you could have sex with at night in the back of your car. The men are either gang member or police. Very segregated when gender is looked at in this game. Aristotle might look at this game in a different light. CJ clearly does not have what everyone else has, therefore there is not a balance in society and someone needs to give up what they have. We live in a capitalistic society so making money is how we survive. CJ faced with so many obstacles resorts to violence to correct this imbalance. He steal and kills just to have a little of what the wealthy people have walking around. His actions would be justified then if he was trying to take from those who had to much and provide for his family and himself which didn't have enough. (This entry has been edited3 times. He recently got back to San Andres from the east coast because of his mothers recent death. I later found out she was killed. As he is on his way home in a taxi, crooked cops stop the taxi and pull CJ out. They plant a gun used to kill another cop on him and let him out in a rivalry gang territory. My character is already face with a dilemma before the game even started. I noticed that their demeanor probably came from stereotypes of blacks and hispanics and I hope people don't get the perceived notion that all blacks and hispanics act this way that live in not so well neighborhoods. CJ clothes were baggy, every other word was a curse word or slang, and he had a bad attitude. He really showed players that he was from the hood and even having the cop be Samuel L. Jackson voice. Very nice touch of black. CJ recently found out that his mother died and came home to be with his family. I think that was a morally just thing to do. You always want to be their for your family because your family was their for you. That I respect, even CJ wanting to avenge her death and make her killer pay. I honestly would have done the same thing. I know that his mother's killer is still out there. I know when it comes to certain areas of a city, police officers don't do everything they are suppose to do to fight crime so I can assume that CJ's mothers killer is still out their. For that matter, since the justice system won't help you have to take it into your own hands. As Mill would look at like, more people would be satisfied with the death of CJ's mothers killer than for him to still be alive so killing him would be justified. Now it is my turn to play. ~I first took the bike and got to a friends house by the name of Big Sweet. ~He then took me to see my mothers grave and brother. ~I drove, but quickly noticed following any of the road rules was not part of the game. ~When leaving the burial site, we were in the heat of a drive by and the rival gang blew up Big Sweet's car. ~We now have to bike to get back home but the gang is on us shooting at us and I am losing health. ~I try and keep up with Big Sweet and get back home. ~I then go with my brother to get my hair cut and something to eat to survive. As I get pizza, he comes in and wants to rib the place. My character didn't agree with that and told him to stop but before we could do that the pizza guy pulled out a shot gun and tried to shoot. We quickly left. ~Before I ended the game I headed back home and explored the empty house. (This entry has been edited5 times.
