zackgaskell's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1349Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Wed, 03 Nov 2010 20:16:03https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4522entry 4 Just another stereotype that I noticed was that when you pull someone out of a car the music playing is different depending on the race. If you pull out a young black person gangster rap is playing or if you pull out an older black man more jazzy funk music is playing. It just really blows my mind that the creators of the game programmed all of this stuff that I talked about in my other posts to create this game. When I played video games before like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater I now look back and see all of the stereotypes that are involved in that game they don't really compare but they are still there. After noticing all of these sorts of things ranging from how my attitude is after I play games, the small things in the games that give certain people an image, or other things. I really don't think I will be able to play a video game the same way besides maybe a sports game or super Nintendo games. There arent that many white people in the game either and most of the time when you steal a nice car it is a white person in it. I tried to look up the makers of the game and see how people in the making of the game reacted to things like this. Like why would someone let some portray them incorrectly. yes I understand rockstar was trying to make a message about the LA area but at the same time I feel they needed to think of equality.Wed, 03 Nov 2010 20:16:03 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4522&iddiary=8460Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Tue, 02 Nov 2010 22:37:34https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4510entry 3 So I attempted to continue the storyline of the game instead of just running around and just doing whatever I felt like and using a PC makes it really hard to do things like steer. I got to the tagging mission and I kept getting caught by the police. SO I know when all my friends play they use cheats so I looked up all the cheats and ran across the hot coffee minigame cheat. I knew it was mentioned in class but I had no idea what it was. I did it and thought it was so dumb that you can control CJ having sex. Pressing up and down for him to thrust. To be completely honest I can see little kids that play this game and find out about this and just tell all their friends about it and they probably think it is the greatest thing in the world. Video Games should not include virtual sex. It should not be in it especially sex the player controls. I also looked over the cheats and saw that there are cheats that will attract prostitutes and strippers. This is basically asking for people to want to be aroused by a virtual one night stand. Some of the other cheats really outrageous like the beach party where all the girls just wear bikinis. I also did the cheat with all weapons and infinite health. When I did this I just basically went on a rampage burning everything in my path and I can see where it would give young kids the wrong idea. Not only just going around running over people and shooting is bad but just how they ca n rebel against the police so easily. There is no justice in this game you can do some much wrong and nothing happens. It is so easy to run from the police and not get caught. If it was a more difficult game to get away from the cops I really dont think as many people would play it. All my friends that play it just go screw around in the game they dont actually follow the story and if it was easier for cops to catch you I feel that people would just think its an annoyance because they cant continue their mischief.Tue, 02 Nov 2010 22:37:34 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4510&iddiary=8433Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Sun, 31 Oct 2010 23:18:30https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4491When I started playing this time I tried to stay on the storyline. I really noticed a lot more stereotypical things. The gangs that all dress up alike and the different races that dress up differently. Especially the mexicans it was really apparent that their accent and their clothes. The really single out groups and make them look very specific. The prostitutes stand out. The language they use is really realistic because thats how people really talk and the profanity they use. The fact that you can beat police and just random civilians really is unethical. No matter what you do there is not punishment for anything that you do. It shows players that if you do something bad there is no consequence except paying 100 dollars. The whole game is just all about mischief and doing bad things I just really think that there is no way in this game to make it ethical. The story line does not require you to do anything good. The only thing that I saw was good was after you die you can get in an ambulance and rescue patients.Sun, 31 Oct 2010 23:18:30 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4491&iddiary=8395Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Fri, 29 Oct 2010 15:52:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4478First off I am a person that has only played games like Super Mario and Legend of Zelda for super Nintendo. I have never played grand theft auto before and when I first started I was really surprised with the content that was in the game. The fact that his mom died and how he came back for was just a way to start the game off that set the scene that he would want to get revenge and how Tenpenny already has him set up by having his gun. It really shows the corruption and is realy realistic within the virtual world there. I only did the first mission and just ran around basically and learned the controls of the game because its kind of difficult to play with a keyboard. When I saw your stats can change like sexyness and how fat you are I just really thought it was ridiculous. I just know that some of my friends play this game religiously and they get so excited about things in it and if you are having virtual sex i just think it so unreal that people would put it into a video game. The game to the point im at really has an ethical egoism standpoint because he is doing what is best for himself at all times and he is his own person and everything is for your own benefit. I played a little bit more with the story and you have a lot of control with CJ and I can really see where people would get so into the game because you control your body type, haircut, and what you eat. You have complete control over something and its human nature to want control.Fri, 29 Oct 2010 15:52:39 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4478&iddiary=8378
