I didn't get much farther in the game. It got to the point that it was taking me so much time to figure out all the little things to do. I finally got the actual spot were the kids go in and start killing. This experience really disturbed me. This is where you are two like final fantasy characters and you are gearing up to take down monsters. However these monsters are in fact children.I was totally blow away by the level of just inhuman acts i was basically forced into doing against people. This reminded me of the final fantasy games but with killing innocence people. Even pokemon came into my mind as I was playing this game. Then I thought about it for a second. The only difference here is instead of monsters im killing children so is not final fantasy teaching me to solve my problems with violence?. On top of that Pokemon is even worse. In pokemon i go around with enslaved creatures and force them to fight until they literally black out in pain. I don't know what this game is ment for and what point the creator was trying to get across. So from there I can only say that using this event is a little harsh in trying to get a point across however if by utilitarianism, if it works then by this means its a great way to make me stop and question what i am playing.Tue, 09 Aug 2011 11:38:40 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4725&iddiary=8727Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Mon, 08 Aug 2011 22:38:47https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4725Second way through this game it reminds me a lot of Zelda. You have to get all the right little things. Interesting enough though the game does provide interesting challenges to a new player. It plays very similar to the original final fantasy games. You are able to customize your character’s weapons and items. However for the moral issues. It is hard to see where exactly the game is going with the subject. I can see clearly through some actions that the game is pointing out many of the controversial aspects of this situation. However at the same time I see a clear pointing out that music and media make kids violent. The kids keep quoting things that justify their actions.Mon, 08 Aug 2011 22:38:47 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4725&iddiary=8720Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Mon, 08 Aug 2011 16:32:35https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4725Okay so right off the bat this game confused and frightened me a bit. I mean come on it’s about Columbine. So right from the get go I was afraid this game would be all about killing students in a cafeteria similar to the experience of the first mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Even my girlfriend’s immediate reaction was of disgust and anger right along with my own. As I start to play this game I notice something right from the get go. It is similar to Zelda graphics and reminded me of Pokemon. This took off some edge from the game. As I walked around and interacted I noticed that there is music in the back ground of popular music thought to be “violent”. Also the two characters say right off the bat that what they are doing was not caused by others but by the people in their school and continue on and say that people will do all these things like blame some guy on a cd cover for all of this. I am very confused and curious as to what this game has in store and why it is being used in an ethics classMon, 08 Aug 2011 16:32:35 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4725&iddiary=8719Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Thu, 28 Jul 2011 12:34:01https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4707My last moments of Grand theft auto San Andreas were very happy in the fact that I didn’t have to play this game anymore. This entire time I have been playing I have noticed the fact that this game was deisgned for the console and not a pc. While playing the PC version it is extremely hard to control all the axis of the game while being able to continue with play. Because of this I couldn’t not get past tagging the walls mission. It took to much control not to get killed while controlling the camera with the pad to tag items. On that note the last thing That I can say about this game is that you and a friend are off to destroy other gangs art work on walls. So you are basically just going into random places even into someone else’s territory and tagging over their gang signs. Is this immoral? Is the fact that you would bring much happiness to you and your gang out way the cost? I mean the walls were already tagged by others so its not like you are destroying property, it has already been messed up. Overall I find this game extremely immoral and I find that while I play it I feel immoral. I can find no other real reason to play this game except to cause mayhem and destruction, which one could say is the point of the game. However I can not play the story to this game if that is what you can call it.Thu, 28 Jul 2011 12:34:01 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4707&iddiary=8689Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Wed, 27 Jul 2011 21:50:32https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4707My second day of San Andreas was not much better than the first. Overall the game is lacking in my opinion and seems just to be a game exactly like the pervious 3 games and was only made to make money. The only real difference is the intense racism that is just in your face. However this time I figured id give the game a shot so I actually played the game. The things that happen in this game are ridiculous and make me wonder that by participating in this game am I myself moral? I mean the point of the game is to do these things but by playing it am I rust as guilty as the character? An example of this is in the first mission where you basically are given a tutorial on how to play the game. In doing this you are to get a hair cut and food. While getting food your friend basically holds up the place. What is worse is that your character and you know exactly that this was going to happen and yet you go with it. Second I noticed that by accidentally running someone over (because there are no driving restrictions) I get one star. Immediately with one star the cops come after me and first thing they do is shoot at me. They don’t try to arrest me they just shoot. So what exactly are the game developers trying to put across?Wed, 27 Jul 2011 21:50:32 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4707&iddiary=8683Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PS2) - Tue, 26 Jul 2011 22:53:35https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4707The minute I start playing this game, the amount of racism is ridiculous. Grand theft auto has never been very subtle with racism but in this game you are just smacked in the face with it. That alone was enough to make me want to put the game down. However, I played through it only to be slapped in the face again by another completely racist violent attack by another gang. I am however very surprised by the first vehicle used is a bike instead of walking out on the street and mugging someone in broad day light. I started playing this game with memories of grand theft auto 3 and vice city in my mind. Old habits die hard and when I was finally able to rid myself of the constant vulgar smacking gangster, I did what any fifteen year old would do with this game. I input the games cheat codes and began running up a huge wanted level and then began to murder and slaughter my way to the hospital. This ability to put in cheat codes and then go and do what I did is an example of some problems with morality in this case. I understand that games don’t really make kids violent but it can not seriously be good for anyone to sit down and play games where you are not only able but sometimes promoted to hurt others for no good cause. Also in the game it has stats and the only ones are muscles, exhaustion, fat, and some others. There is nothing about intelligence or anything that could lead a person to a “better life”. I believe that Kant would be against such a game in that if everyone was to be aloud to do what I do then everyone in the game would be dead and you’d have no game to play. So the actual character himself is immoral. On top that the utilitarianism would also argue that this character is immoral because the destruction I caused “could “ possible be justified so lets do some math. I brought momentary happiness to myself, again momentarily because I get bored in about 5 minutes. I have also brought “cred” to my gang. On the other hand I have killed hundreds of people, destroyed hundreds of families, caused major damage that someone has to pay for, and successfully caused so much terror that no one would ever go by that place again, and here is the kicker, I’ve done it just about anywhere so why would any body still be in the city?Tue, 26 Jul 2011 22:53:35 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4707&iddiary=8672
