piquettemike's GameLogBlogging the experience of gameplayhttps://www.gamelog.cl/gamers/GamerPage.php?idgamer=1482Columbine RPG (PC) - Wed, 12 Oct 2011 02:03:26https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4803Day 3, I ventured into what I suppose was hell and took in what there point of view was actually like I suppose. This game took longer than I expected with no real reward at that end expect predictability, suicide. I'm not sure why this is the first time I heard of this game and it had to be in an ethics class but in any other scenario I wouldn't even have attempted. It's like that JFK game that came out depicting the events that eventually led up to JFK death by Lee Harvey Oswald, to me it's saying what's the point? What's the reasoning of wanting to play an actual murderer that was behind something so awful and tragic? I play games to have fun not to relive in the eyes of actual horrible events. We know the ending and what's to become, we know the story and who ends up the victim. Yes there are a lot of killing games that bring very realistic gore such as GTA and Manhunt but only in a fictitious way. These games I prefer because I'm not trying to relive a horrible time that once was taken place. I'm glad this is my last log on this and I say good riddance to this game and the directors behind it. Honestly as I started shooting people it really wasnt fun any more because of the stories I read before hand, it was all just sad. The fact that they played a lot of Radiohead was cool but over all I just didnt feel like playing any more but I did for the log. So I kept playing, more of the story played out with the shootings in the hallways and the library and depicting jocks out of the kids just like the real story. Getting bombs to work and reading more story lines of what they thought they would say just got old. I'm not a fan of this game at all, just saying.Tue, 11 Oct 2011 00:36:49 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4803&iddiary=8891Columbine RPG (PC) - Mon, 10 Oct 2011 01:53:28https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4803This game is very interesting indeed, between the music and the story line I was very interested to continue to play just for sake of knowing what was needed to do next. I've didn't do to much research on this whole tragic event, I mean I know what happened and I heard a lot of the stories, who didn't, but this seems like they did a little more research than I would have. Between the Marylin Manson and Nirvana music and just getting the full background of Eric and Dylan themselves showed that research was definitely done on this one. The game play was like a standard RPG you would have played on your game boy so not to much was expected, knowing where to go at certain times like finding the gym was a bit tedious because you weren't really shown where to go. I like how they have a saving spot in the parking lot, like the middle ground so you can periodically save when needed. I look forward to continuing this game to play out an obvious ending.Mon, 10 Oct 2011 01:53:28 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4803&iddiary=8869Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Tue, 27 Sep 2011 21:43:18https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4762Day 3 This day started pretty funny with them going to "Cluckin Bell" and the fat guy ordering a whole bunch of meals but then ended in a drive by, starting the next mission, kill the people in the car that started the drive by. This was a great way to earn some more street credit, money and a machine gun and the fat guy complaining about his food getting spilled everywhere was pretty funny too. If this is what it's like in the hood every time I wanted to get some taco bell or as they call it "Cluckin Bell" then I would probably go shopping more often and just eat at home. From here I started wondering off from the missions again just driving around taking in the scenery and running over people and starting fights. This is all very entertaining but I wonder how this entertainment would looked at like 20 years ago more towards the nintendo, sega era? This violence and sense of do whatever the hell you want in this game would have been totally forbidden and banned from parents everywhere. Look at how parent reacted to Mortal Kombat back then and there was not nearly as much violence or realism as this game. Mission six was kind of cool starting out with trying out the guns and learning how to better aim. Although getting the guns from a retarded like crack head was little off for me. It was kind of sad when everyone was shooting the only that was said was geared towards killing people and not just practicing how to shoot. Next was changing my appearance for obvious gang reasons. Going to get these clothes earned me some respect and the signs in the store were all saying everything was 99 cents but the hoody I got cost like 40 dollars, was a little put off by that, wish I could have bargained or something. Tue, 27 Sep 2011 21:43:18 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4762&iddiary=8812Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Mon, 26 Sep 2011 19:56:31https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4762Day 2 Finally put aside what I’m so tempted to do which is just drive around and hit, shoot, kill and rob people and finally play some missions. Mission 1 took me on a little bike ride along the city and was kind of nice to take in the view and not to mention show me where the bike park was. On my way there I was shot at and heard plenty of racial slurs geared towards Mexicans and African Americans, which you tend to get a lot when taking a stroll anywhere in this game. Ethically this game just keeps showing the stereotypical inner city life that does very much exist in California, is this right to show fun in what others feel fear in everyday in these types of neighborhoods? The next two levels were mainly about making your image street worthy. Between the hair cuts to robbing the pizza place and then having to tag over your rivalry gangs graffiti you’re clearly out to make a presentable image for yourself to fit in with the other urban civilians. Is this what you have to do to make it in these kinds of neighborhoods? Whether this is right or wrong do you really have a choice just based on survival purposes alone? Then the next level consists of beating down crack dealers at a crack den, I mean this is the way of life for some and there simply portraying this in a video game bringing it to your safe suburban living room. Mon, 26 Sep 2011 19:56:31 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4762&iddiary=8779Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Sun, 25 Sep 2011 17:55:14https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4762Day 1 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, what is there to say on an ethical and moral view besides everything! You rob, steal, kill, crush, maul, punch, kick, and not to mention a whole lot of shit talking through gangs and just about everyone else. Living in Carl “CJ” Johnson’s world is always a trip and a half. So the story basically starts out when you head to your mother’s funeral and get framed for a murder by two cops that you apparently have met before, which I don’t remember it from past games, and dropped in a place of all these other gangs. I found this all so far pleasing for the main fact that they are pulling stories from old games and bringing them in and the game play is always good. It seems that everyone in this game so far hates you but it’s just business as usual for old CJ. In the first ten minutes playing I simply drove around killing plenty of people via car and just plain fighting. I made some cash by robbing and shooting people and went into a few buildings and murdered a bunch of people as well. Ethically this game hits upon a lot of obvious stuff and shooting people for the fun of it is numero uno for sure. Is it right to get used to the feeling of killing which in turn you become so desensitized that it’s just normal? Is it ok that to survive in the game the easiest way is to thrive off of other people’s means by murdering them then taking their money? The more I play I feel a sense of addictiveness already becoming and since now I have a strong feel of the environment I think heading towards the mission/story line is going to be an interesting venture…Sun, 25 Sep 2011 17:55:14 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4762&iddiary=8769
