Decided to explore, since by this time the combat has gotten pointless. It’s no fun when people have no chance of killing you, even on the rare occasions when they do fight back. Headed into the hallway leading to the gym. I avoided killing people. Beginning to wonder if killing people is even required to complete the game. Probably not. Went into the boys bathroom to see if there were any secrets. Found a bunch of jocks beating up some kid. Killed them, and the kid gave me some first aid kits for rescuing him. Seems like the boys only really hate jocks. Went on about my business. Avoided killing more people until I found a locked door. Killed the nearby janitor for the key to see what was inside. The boys went on a flashback about Frankenstein, but nothing interesting happened. I went back to exploring. Thought about massacring the gym, but thought better of it and left. Went into one of the last unopened doors and found the library. It was massive. Tried to explore while killing as few people as possible. Made it to a window in the back, where the boys saw the police and started firing. Got the suicide prompt and decided there wasn’t really anything left to do. The boys killed themselves, and the game went to real pictures of Columbine. Watched those, going to have to figure out how many people they actually killed later. And then the surprise. I’m now playing as Dylan in what appears to be hell. About five minutes in, I’m murdered by a demon and we’ve come to the end of the game. Interesting.Thu, 23 Feb 2012 10:09:29 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4914&iddiary=9105Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Thu, 23 Feb 2012 10:09:09https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4914Game Log 2, Entry 2. 2/22/12 5:18 pm I got the stuff out of the trunk and headed to the park to gear up. This is where the massacre part starts. Listened to the boys rant about how unfair the world is and how much they hate people. Still wondering if there’s anyone they don’t hate. Headed back to the parking lot to wait for the bombs. Apparently they didn’t go off after all. The bell rang and the boys decided to start killing people the old fashioned way (with guns). Interestingly, they tell one of the first people you bump into to run. Apparently there are some people they like. Started shooting up the parking lot. The combat’s a bit like the pokemon games, only things tend to die in a few hits. Ended up using the autoplay option for most of the combat. The first person I tried to kill begged for mercy. Unlike pokemon, this game has no option to run from a battle once it’s started (at least not that I found), so that’s not happening. Eventually I did kill everyone in the parking lot and headed inside. Interestingly, Dylan apparently owns a BMW. Last I checked, those were pretty expensive. It seems his rant about stupid rich people doesn’t apply to him. Originally I started killing everyone in the school. I killed about 2 classrooms full of people before I decided there were way too many people here to have to kill them all. So I strolled down the hall to the cafeteria, only killing the people that bumped into me. I pulled the fire alarm in the cafeteria to see what would happen. People started running faster, but no one actually tried to leave. Decided to let them run around like headless chickens and went back to the car for ammo. Saved to come back later.Thu, 23 Feb 2012 10:09:09 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4914&iddiary=9104Super Columbine Massacre RPG (PC) - Thu, 23 Feb 2012 10:08:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4914Game Log 2, Entry 1. 2/21/12 11:57 pm I just finished the first part of the game. I got up to the point where you plant the bombs in the cafeteria and have to sneak back out. Wonder if they’ll actually go off. Had a hard time getting in at first, kept bumping into people. So far it seems like the boys just want to kill people and really like explosions. Wonder if there’s anyone they actually like other than each other. Tried to explore the school a little, but apparently you can only do that while killing people. Snuck back out without too much trouble (it took me ages to figure out how to get in). The people in the hall ways aren’t particularly unique and comment about my weird clothes a lot. I guess tomorrow we shoot them because they’re there.Thu, 23 Feb 2012 10:08:39 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4914&iddiary=9103Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Thu, 26 Jan 2012 10:31:15https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4861Since my crashes seem to be triggered by cut scenes, I decided to try something different. I decided to explore. I wandered around San Andreas to see what interesting things I could find. To my surprise, not a whole lot. Aside from the occasional random thugs deciding to take shots at me, there’s not a whole lot to do here for someone who’s not out to cause mayhem. I did find an oyster in a pond at one of the local parks, and apparently there are more of them, but I have no idea what they’re used for or why I would want them. Also, everyone in the city seems to be angry all the time. Drivers honking constantly, and pedestrians yelling at me to stop shoving them (you walked into me, dude!). The police are surprisingly negligent. Apparently a thug shooting at people in broad daylight is ho hum in this town. The place is filled with crazy drivers too, and the police aren’t doing anything about it. I saw at least three cars drive up onto the sidewalk and hit pedestrians and then just drive away. Saw a couple traffic accidents too. Just going to assume insurance doesn’t exist in this world. Eventually I made it to the ocean side, which bears a striking resemblance to Lakeshore Drive. Decided to jump in and look for oysters; didn’t find any. It got dark while I was there. Interestingly, as I was running back to the game’s intended goal in the dark, I got shot at a lot less than I had during the day. There were plenty of street walkers out on the way home. I would have found it amusing if a couple had been male. Alas, none were. I tried to continue on with the game’s intended goals, but my health was too low to complete the biking mission. Apparently I took a few too many bullets earlier in the day. The evil pink car sent me to the hospital, where they happily removed some of my cash and sent me on my way. After a jog back home to try again, I made it to the end of the biking mission, evaded the pink car, only to reach the cut scene of doom, where the game promptly crashed. Yep. GTA hates me.Thu, 26 Jan 2012 10:31:15 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4861&iddiary=9013Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Thu, 26 Jan 2012 09:33:51https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4861Should have posted this last night, but was a little angry. Last black screen was the first of many, and the game seems to lack a save on demand function, so I keep having to repeat the game into. I did finish the bike section, unfortunately the game black screened at the next cut scene, which means that for all intents and purposes I’ve made no progress in the game. On the bright side, having to redo the same portion of the game means I’m getting not so lost and better at navigating. I still think the bike controls are clunky, and I’ve noticed that the pink car shooting at you and your gang only shoots at you. It also likes to ram into you at really inopportune moments. Spent about ten minutes trying to extract myself from a corner the car trapped me in. It’s kind of funning how you take no damage from falling off the bike or being hit by a car. Anyway, the more I play this game, the more I hate it. I haven’t even completed the first mission (I’m chocking this one up to technical difficulties, not my own lack of skill) and the game’s already out to get me. I don’t really have a whole lot of choices beyond do the mission or turn off the game, and that’s not a good feeling.Thu, 26 Jan 2012 09:33:51 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4861&iddiary=9011Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - Wed, 25 Jan 2012 02:39:10https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4861I just started up the game today. I’ve never played GTA before, so this should be interesting. Just watched the intro. Apparently my mom died and I have to go home for her funeral. No sooner do I catch a cab from the airport than the police drag me out of the car, take my money, accuse me of murdering a police officer, and drop me in an enemy gang’s territory. Oh, and they also left all my stuff in the taxi. I’m probably never going to see that again. Police officers made a couple of racist remarks directed at me and the taxi driver, who’s apparently Mexican. Wonderful start here. The game directs me to get on a bike I find nearby where I’ve been dumped. The stealing’s begun! I had some trouble adapting to the vehicle controls. Tried to ride the bike on the sidewalk to avoid obstructing traffic, but hit a pedestrian. Ooops. Continued pedaling. Despite hitting no more pedestrians and avoiding every single one of the buggers, they continue to yell at me. I’ve also noticed I’m completely and totally lost. I pause on the sidewalk to try and reorient myself. A pedestrian walks right into me (while I’m stopped) and then proceeds to yell at me for hitting her. Fail. Decide to get on the road. At first I try to obey traffic laws, but the lights take so long, and most of streets aren’t very crowded. Decide it’s a waste of time and just try to get to my goal. After getting turned around a few more times, I reach the house. A cut scene ensues, and I go to meet my brother, who’s apparently still a gang member. Then the rival gang shows up and takes a few shots at us in a drive by. Hoo boy. We run to the conveniently placed bikes across the street. I’m not sure if they belong to the gang or we’re stealing them, but all things considered I’d go with the latter. The chase begins. Predictably, I get lost almost immediately and the shooters single me out. I get run off the road, take an inhuman number of bullets to the face before my health drops dangerously low, and then manage to escape to the first checkpoint. Repeat. I get lost again, take more bullets to the face, die this time, and proceed to the mission failed screen. Sigh. I have to walk back to the house this time (because of course the bike’s not here), where I get watch the same cut scene. Only this time the game freezes and black screens in the middle of it. So much for that. First impressions? This game is out to get me, it’s not fair, and cops are evil.Wed, 25 Jan 2012 02:39:10 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=4861&iddiary=8997
