At first, just playing for one hour was not enough to get into the game. But playing for another hour really gives me the chance to progess in the game. However, even more fun that playing the game, I think the best thing to do is the use the cheat so I can have all the weapans, and kill as many people with out the cops finding me. Doing that was far more fun than just playing the the. But the second hour was more fun.Thu, 22 Feb 2007 21:28:06 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1356&iddiary=2894Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - Thu, 22 Feb 2007 20:01:04https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1356I have played this game before, and I have always enjoyed it. But for some reason, this time I just couldn't get into it. I think you have to be in the right kind of mood to play this game. Instead of playing a random level with a character that has already been used, I decided to start from the begining of the game and see what I could do. I kind of felt like the first missions were just boring and not all that fun. However, once I got guns and other stuff, I found it entertaining to just start shooting innocent bystanders and wait for the cops to show up -- then attempting to shoot them. Unfortunatly, this just didn't really work. In terms of the technical side of the game, I did enjoy the graphics and the way the player has a range of motion, that can easily be controlled. Also, I enjoy how this game has differnt ways you can play it. If you want you can just walk around, or you can drive cars. You can even fly planes later in this game. Overall I think this is a great game, you just need to be in the right mood and be willing to put some time into playing it.Thu, 22 Feb 2007 20:01:04 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1356&iddiary=2888James Bond Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 16:53:46https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1062After playing James Bond Golden Eye 007 for another hour. Im am starting to realize how much I dislike this game. Although it can be fun, especially in multiplayer, I just keep on finding that the game is attempting to do things that just can't be done at the time the game was made. I think all the graphics are far too dark, perhaps adding an element into the game, but I feel that it is unecessary. I don't know if I can take much more of the Aiming button. Usually with an aiming button, you can actually aim. In this game it seems that It just is a little closer, but you have no control at all. Usually ending in your own death. I have to hand it to the game, it most likely was a breakthrough for games at the time it was made, but quite frankly, I dont' care for it, I would much rather go back to a good 2D game such as Mario Bros. than to play a bad 3D game like this. Although I don't care for this game much, I did find it fun to play against my friends in the multiplayer option.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 16:53:46 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1062&iddiary=2304James Bond Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Wed, 31 Jan 2007 15:15:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1062The last time I played this game was probably around the time it was released in the late 90's. Going back to play this game again is very interesting. The first thing I realized was how much games have evolved since James Bond Goldeneye 007. The first thing I noticed in the actual game play was the cut scenes at the begining of each level, which most likely sparked the trent that is so evident in today's games. The graphics are far less realistic than what is created today, but I think that this game sparked the way in which games are made today. in terms of game play, I felt that Goldeneye 007 was somewhat hard to play. The controls are not that responsive when it comes to aiming your weapon, which led to my death multiple times. As I was playing the first level, I was able to get to a part where there was a truck blocking my path, and could not figure out how to get by it. I tried everything from shooting every weapon I had to walking into it. After a few minutes I just got frustrated and turned the game off.Wed, 31 Jan 2007 15:15:39 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1062&iddiary=2273Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Thu, 18 Jan 2007 21:36:22https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=710After playing Super Mario Bros. 3 for another hour. I still feel that this game is not made for my tastes. For me, it is not exciting enough. every leve: Same old, same old. Once again, I would get bored and try and run through the whole level. Which usually resulted in a quick death. Yet i guess it can be done. Because some guy ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=mn0hY56FbLs ) was able to beat the entire game in 11 minutes. Although I felt that the game was boring. As I progressed into the third world, It started to get more interesting. With more challanges. But I like a game that is intersting right off the bat, and you dont have to wait until the third world, before it is enjoyable. I can see how Super Mario Bros. 3 is a classic. At the time it was the best game out, and the most thrilling today. I bet if I was writing this when it first came out, this blog would be much different. Because I have played games that are coming out today, that in my mind, are much, much better than Super Mario Bros. 3, I have a bias against it. Yet I can see how, at the time, it was unreal. In fact I even remember playing it as a kid and having a much more enjoyable experience.Thu, 18 Jan 2007 21:36:22 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=710&iddiary=1644Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Thu, 18 Jan 2007 14:57:58https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=710This week I have been playing Super Mario Bros. 3 on NES. This game is a 'classic' as most likely everyone, and they're Grandma, have heard about it. I havn't played this game for a few years now. I remember as a kid I loved this game. The first thing I noticed, starting to play again, is that I don't think I am patient enough for this game. Most of the time I would just press the 'run' butten and see how long I could go without dying, when it is obvious that this would not be the best tactic. Ocassionaly I would try and do the level correctly, hitting all the coins and killing all the objects in my way. I just found this kind of boring. I can see how this would be lots of fun for someone younger than me though. I think as you get older, you need more excitement. Unofrtunatly, this doesn't do it for me. One thing I do like abou the game is the simplicity, compared to games coming out today. The levels are simple and it is obvious where to go. to the right of the screen, until the level ends. This is one aspect of Super Mario Bros. I really like. Although it has the two player option, it isn't really that enjoyable. There is no direct competion between players.Thu, 18 Jan 2007 14:57:58 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=710&iddiary=1594Madden NFL Football 2006 (PS2) - Thu, 11 Jan 2007 21:27:06https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=507After playing Madden NFL Football 2006 for the second time, I found it just as enjoyable. In fact, I would say I had even more fun this time. The first time I played the game, I just understood the basic controls. However, the second time I played, I was able to use advanced controls, such as "hit-stick". I talked about in my first entry that i found the defense to be a little bit boring, yet after learning some of the more advanced controls, I started to have more fun on defense. Injuring opposing players is now my forte. However, I would still argue that it is much more fun to play on the offense. If I was part of the game development, I would look to see what could be done to make the offense a more enjoyable experience. One aspect I didn't mention in my first blog that I like about this game is the situation it puts you in. unlike many games that are made for single player, Madden works great multi player. In fact, it adds an element to it, as you are competing against your friends.Thu, 11 Jan 2007 21:27:06 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=507&iddiary=1231Madden NFL Football 2006 (PS2) - Thu, 11 Jan 2007 21:17:57https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=507Yesterday I played Madden NFL Football 2006 for just over an hour. The first thing i realized is not different aspects of the game, but the fact that the hour I played it seemed so short. I have not played this game on PS2 for over a year, so it took me a little bit of time to get down the controls. But after about 15 minutes, I think I got down the basic controls. One thing I noticed playing is that I have a lot more control of the game on offense, compared to defense. On offense, I Can throw the ball, I can catch the ball, and I can run with the ball. However, on defense, I felt like i could achieve just as much if I put the controller down and let the computers do it for themselves. One aspect that I found challenging was the kickoff's. It seems that most football games have a style of kickoff that is fairly universal, however, on Madden NFL Football 2006, there are different controls, which proved to be challenging for me. I assume if Iplayed for a little longer I would have got it down. Overall, I found playing Madden NFL Football 2006 to be an overall enjoyable experience.Thu, 11 Jan 2007 21:17:57 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=507&iddiary=1226
