The outcome is really random and it is really hard to master the game because no matter how long you have been play the game, it does not necessarily make you a better player. Maybe you will be better at playing those small games, but still there is no guaranteed winner in the game. That is fun for me because usually I get my ass kicked when I play video games with my friends. However, this time I actually won for once. There are some tricks and strategies about the game, such as which way you should go or when to use your orbs stuff like that. Overall, it is one of the best game I have ever played.Fri, 23 Feb 2007 14:30:48 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1425&iddiary=3009Mario Party (N64) - Fri, 23 Feb 2007 14:21:44https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1425This is such a fun game when you play with a lot of your friends. We figured out a way to play with eight people with four controllers. You have to share one controller with another player. You two will play as a team. The game is like a board game but much more fun that the ones I played when I was small, the ones with dice and other stupid stuff. This game is very self-explainary. I have never played this game before, however I learned how to play it right away. It is very simple to learn. It is a game with simple rules but many different outcomes and its hard to master.Fri, 23 Feb 2007 14:21:44 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1425&iddiary=3004Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Thu, 08 Feb 2007 23:07:46https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1179I took a little rest and played for the second time. I improved my aiming skills a little bit, but I still pretty suck at this game. I could not proceed very long in this game because I kept on dying and started over again and again. However, I could tell if you keep on playing this game and master to aim with the controller, it would actually be a very fun game. The graphic and music is good. No matter what, you can not go wrong with bond, some guy who is good-looking, sophisticated, driving nice cars, killing people, blowing things up and getting ladies. The character himself does the job for the game already. The game goes with the flow and draw you into the Bond World. However, I do wish I could be a little bit better at this game so that I can enjoy it more.Thu, 08 Feb 2007 23:07:46 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1179&iddiary=2527Goldeneye 007 (N64) - Thu, 08 Feb 2007 22:31:56https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1179I have heard a lot of good stories of this game. It is a very popular game. However this was the first time I played this game. James Bond has been a hero and role model to me since I was a kid. So I had a lot expectation before playing it. But the first 15 minutes of playing this game was not all that pleasant at all because I could not figure out how to shoot. I did not even know there is a "triger" on the controller. I had to call my friend to figure out where is the triger. Then I found this game is extremely hard to play. I have played first person shooter games before such as Counterstrike. Playing that kind of game on a controller instead of mouse and key-board is a whole new kind of story. I found it is extremely hard to aim with the controller, you can never aim correctly or fast enough. The game kind of got me frustrated because I kept on dying after three minutes of playing the game.Thu, 08 Feb 2007 22:31:56 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1179&iddiary=2522Gradius (NES) - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 15:22:13https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=951It is almost impossible to play this game without cheat. My friend and I used this one cheat which made this game a lot better to play. For each level, you have one power up cheat. It is up up down down left right left right B A start. Now it is almost a fair game to play. We also found out there are a lot of "secrets" in this game. If you kill the boss fast enough with a pretty high score, you will have a secret level to play. When your shield wears off, you can always use the question mark and get another one. Even with the cheat, the game is still pretty hard. We only got to the third level. It is a pretty fun game to play in general. This is the kind of game that you will fight your friend for the controller and see who can pass that "hard part" in the game.Tue, 30 Jan 2007 15:22:13 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=951&iddiary=2081Gradius (NES) - Tue, 30 Jan 2007 14:43:39https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=951It is a very hard and frustrating game. It was made in 1986, so it is one of the earliest space plane shooting games. Rules in this game is relatively simple, however, there is a lot of modification comparing to the ealiest space plane shooting games like "Space Invader". There are different stages and each stage has its own boss. You can eat the "energy box". And you can improve your weapons and speed based on your preference. There are many different types of enemies in each different stage. Even though, it is still a quite straight forward space place shooting game comparing to the games in nowadays; it does not really have a story line behind it; you can understand the game rightaway. However, this game is extremely hard to master. You only have 4 lives to finish the whole game. It is almost impossible. Even though there are certain patterns in each part, it will take you a long time to figure those out. This is the type of the game that will make you sit there and play it for hours then get frustrated about it. You always come very closely to beat a very hard part, then you die. You have to start all over again. So generally it is a pretty fun game but extremely frustrating.Tue, 30 Jan 2007 14:43:39 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=951&iddiary=2079Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:43:54https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=778I personally think this game is a turning point for Mario series or maybe many other games too. It added many other small games into the Mario world, such as gambling, match the special items in three steps, and adding different worlds (each world has a different theme). So Mario is not just a Mario game anymore; it has so many more features rather than just Mario, it can be anything and any game. The rewarding system in this game really keeps the game interesting and motivates people to try harder and play longer. Different item gives you different special ability. There are a lot hidden bricks which have special items in them. You just want to find them. If you don’t finish one game, you can not go to the next one or next world. You just want to know WHAT IS NEXT!!! I remember my friend and I got really frustrated of losing 10 lives on one game and we just want to keep on trying and trying to see what is next. Another interesting factor about this game is its randomness. Many times, you just don’t know which way to go, where are the secret spots, what is in that tunnel… etc. I always want to explore every single spots in the game because I don’t want to miss out anything. Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:43:54 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=778&iddiary=1733Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:18:23https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=778It is such a classis game. It is one of the original Mario games. It brings back so much good memories for me and my buddy. Remember back in the days, when we were just little kids. It was a time that we could just run around, wrestle up side down, playing video games all day long. We were so happy before the “she devils” walked into our lives. Even though the graphic design, sound, and storyline are much simpler than the newer versions of the Mario games, this game made a lot of innovations to the original version of the Marion. It also led a boom of the Mario era. The set ups, music and graphic don’t really have much improvement from the older versions. Storyline is short and simple just like most of the games at the time. Mario Brothers’ princess “Luigi” got kidnapped; your job is to save her. I like it better that way than a long, complicated and complete story. How can the kids today comprehend those deep stories most of the games have today. How can the adults today have the patience sitting through and finish those long stories.Fri, 19 Jan 2007 04:18:23 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=778&iddiary=1727Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - Wed, 17 Jan 2007 02:47:00https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=665I can see why this game made such a big sale. It attracts almost everyone. For poor ghetto neighborhood people, they can somehow relate their real life into the game. The game is probably a more exaggerated version of their life. For middle class and rich suburban people, they are rather intrigued about the ghetto thug lifestyle. We can even see that from the invasion of rap music, bling-blings and baggy pants… etc into the rich suburban area. The game itself is a very rebellious version of real life. When people first started playing the game, it is fun to see how close the game is to real life except you can break any rules from our society in the game. It is rebellious, sexy and violent, the secret of Hollywood’s succession. How can you not make a sell with that? However, things get old in the game. When stealing cars, beat random people to death and run into whatever you want with a Ferrari become normal things to do or more precisely that is all you do, it is not that much fun anymore or at least to me personally.Wed, 17 Jan 2007 02:47:00 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=665&iddiary=1529Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - Wed, 17 Jan 2007 01:41:09https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=665When I first started playing this game, it was really fun to me. The surrounding in the game is very similar to where we live in. You can do anything you want. It is like you go on the street and do whatever you want. Go to restaurant, get a haircut, get a tattoo, beat random people to death steal cars and drive outrageously…etc However, everything gets old after a while. To a point I was kind of bored of it. The dialogues in the game are long and slow, so usually I just jump straight to the mission. Most missions are fairly easy. You barely get any reward after completing each mission. Most missions contain activities such as stealing a car then drive to a designated place. Even though each mission has its own story behind it, things you actually do are all pretty similar; there is only so much you can do. The satisfactions I get from competing each mission is far less than advance a level in Contra. I think it is because of the lack of rules and difficulties in this game.Wed, 17 Jan 2007 01:41:09 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=665&iddiary=1525
