The differance that i noticed in brwal compared ot the previous two is the differance in characters. In the previous two the characters varied in speed slightly, but in brawl the gap is large. Some characters are very slow and powerful while others are quick and not as powerful. There are also not duplicate characters like in the previous smash brothers. In brawl even the similar characters like falco and fox have different move sets instead of the very similar ones they had in melee. Design: The graphics in brawl are better than melee but not by much. The only really noticable differance is the background of the levels. The characters are a bit more detailed but not greatly better. However, the level design in this game has changed alot. The game still has the classic levels from previous game but the new levels are unlike previous ones. There are more things in levels that can effect the player. Some parts of a level may be able to kill the player by taking them off the map. For example there is a level with a fish that swallows the player and they die. The fighting itself hasn't changed alot since the last version. The speed is the only noticable differance. The same combos can be performed but the timing is much slower than melee. The blast power of smash moves(->A) varies alot in this game. Some characters have normal power that only blasts an opponent off the level at a high percentage, while other characters can blast an opponent at a very low percentage. The percentage(health) in brawl is also slightly different. The percentage has to be higher for the same level of weakness. Something like 130% in this version would equal 100% in previous versions.Wed, 05 Mar 2008 22:14:52 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3052&iddiary=5719Super Smash Brothers Brawl (Wii) - Wed, 05 Mar 2008 21:54:59https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3052Summary: This is the third in the series of super smash brothers. It has all the same features with some new ones and more characters of course. This game hasnt been released in the US yet but i played the japanese verison of it at my friends house. Gameplay: When i first started to play brawl i was not used to the speed of the game. It was noticably slower than the second one smash brothers melee. The gameplay did have new features for some of the old moves. The B moves in this version could be charged on certain characters, which is different than the previous 2 versions. When i was playing my friend had just got it so none of the secret characters were unlocked. The single player mode was also not avaliable since it was downloaded and not the whole game. Another addition to brawl is an item that gives you something like a super move. When the character picks up the item there is a small cut scene and the character goes into a super state which varies by character. Bowser for example becomes very large and powerful.Wed, 05 Mar 2008 21:54:59 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=3052&iddiary=5710Super Smash Brothers (N64) - Wed, 20 Feb 2008 17:29:43https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2714Gameplay After playing more it started to get kind of boring only playing computers. I started doing some fun things that didn't really require skill. I was playing 3 computers with low handicap so i could blast them off the stage in 1 or 2 hits. Then i put all homerun bats and tried to kill 3 computers with no handicap. This also became boring and i didnt really want to play anymore. This game cant be played for a long time with only one person unless you are trying to unlock something. Design The design of this game is pretty good in my opinion. It has a unique fighting system that has not been copied yet. The use of familiar characters is also another good design aspect of the game. It allows players to use characters that they like and also they get a sense of what moves the character may have before they even play. The way they set the blast damage is also very good in this game. For example Donkey kong will not be blasted as far off the map as kirby because he is a heavier character. The items make the game fun, but i like to play with no items because items can give a great advantage to one person. The level design is good in this game. There are a few levels that seem to small but they are better for certain characters. The actual fighting is very basic movements just up down left right with either A or B, not the typical motion based moves that are in alot of fighting games. The smash brothers fighting system is more based on timing of hits and the ability to survive.Wed, 20 Feb 2008 17:29:43 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2714&iddiary=5115Super Smash Brothers (N64) - Wed, 20 Feb 2008 16:58:54https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2714Summary Super Smash brothers is a game that was released on the nintendo 64. It has a unique fighting system that uses percent as damage instead of a life bar. Up to 4 players can battle on various stages and there is also a single player mode. All of the characters come from previous games on nintendo consoles. Gameplay I have played this game alot since it came out many years ago. I usually play the 2nd edition of this game which is smash brothers melee. The gameplay is how i remember it. The smash moves (<-,->+A) are the primary attacks that i always use. I used Kirby which is my best character in the first smash brothers. It was fun to use him again because he was nerfed in the second one so i never use him. It did take sometime to get used to the speed of the first one. Items were also on which i usually dont play with. I played on the same stages that i like, which are the fox and link stages because they are relativley flat and they dont make you move around to survive. These stages are based more on skill and not on the ability to move through the stage. I was only playing against computer so it was not as fun as smash brothers usually is.Wed, 20 Feb 2008 16:58:54 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=2714&iddiary=5105Warcraft III -- Frozen Throne (PC) - Mon, 14 Jan 2008 02:26:58https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1777Gameplay: The second time i played the gem tower defence game was alot easier for me. I understood the building system already so i didnt waste time building. I also knew some of the abilities of the towers which helped me kill the enemies faster. I also used a maze this time that made it harder for the enemies to reach the final point. After getting to a higher level i found that the combination towers played a big role in the design of the maze and the amount of damage taken by the enemies. I played until the 34th level where i ran out of lives and was eliminated from the game. I did better but there were other players in the game that were 3-4 levels ahead of me and did not lose any lives yet. Design: The design of this tower defense is unique in all of the tower defense games that i have played. This is the only one that had random towers built every round so the player can't repeat the same strategy everytime the game is played. The upgrade and combination of towers was also another thing that was different in this game. Usually upgrading towers is done within the same tower, but in this game the player has to keep the right towers out of the 5 random ones each round in order to create the powerful towers. This game also had a path marked off by checkpoints that the enemies have to reach which makes the mazing aspect of this game very important.Mon, 14 Jan 2008 02:26:58 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1777&iddiary=3528Warcraft III -- Frozen Throne (PC) - Mon, 14 Jan 2008 02:13:46https://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1777Summary: The gem tower defense game is a use map settings game in Warcraft 3. The game is like other td's where the primary objective is to stop the enemies from getting to a certain point. Every player starts off with a builder that can place towers that defend the point which the enemies try to reach. Gameplay: When i first played this game it was a different way of building compared to other td games that i have played. In this game the builder places five towers named after gems and you have to select one of the gems each round. There are different abilities for each type of tower and also tower recipes. The recipies are combinations of towers that can be made into one powerful tower. There are also slates that do damage to the enemies that run over it and these slates also have combinaitons that produce more powerful slates. Being the first time i played this game i only reached level 17 before losing my lives by letting to many enemies reach the end point. I was playing on extreme race mode, where the winner is the one who completes all of the levels the fastest.Mon, 14 Jan 2008 02:13:46 CDThttps://www.gamelog.cl/logs/LogPage.php?Log_Id=1777&iddiary=3513
