juan's The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii)

    [January 29, 2008 09:56:10 AM]
So after reading some of the game guides online, I finally figured out what to do. I was right about having to show the fish drawing to someone, but it turns out that this waterworld charater wasn't even in the water world. I had to go back to the desert town where this water person was hiding and show him the fish drawing. They then give me a fish hook that I can use to catch this special kind of fish that swims around the snowpeak entrance. The snowpeak is the place that I "knew" I had to go to, but the area was always locked for some reason. Now with the fishing hook, I had to spend probably about five minutes trying to catch this fish. After I caught the fish, you could see the "smell" coming off of it, and that gave me the clue that I had to switch to wolf form and save the fishe's scent into my memory. Once I had the fishes scent, then I went into the snowpeak and was able to use the scent to guide me to the right place. By reading some of the game guide, I discovered that I'm pretty far along into the game, and I'm not too far way from the end. Maybe that's why the last couple of quests have been exceptionally hard. The thing with this game is that it doesn't matter too much if you ever get stuck, since there's so many things to do in this game. During the time I was stuck in the last game session, I made no progress towards the quest, but I had fun for an hour anyway. I played some of the minigames, and started to piece together some of the different stories in the game that I had forgotten about since the last time I played. And that's one thing I like about this game; The overarching storyline that ties the stories and quests in every town/village, and makes the game feel more "whole"

I've started this game Nov 2007, but I haven't played it for about 6 months.
In this last play, I just went through the same problem I've had every time I stop playing this kind game for a while; I always forget what to do next, and the game doesn't help out too much. In such a huge game such as this one, one where a player can roam anywhere they want, I've realized that the amount of time/frustration in accomplishing the next task increases exponentially with the amount of land/levels open/available to the player. When I started playing this game, the initial tasks given in the game are pretty simple to accomplish. You have to do simple errands for the people in your village, and as the game progresses, you begin to unlock parts of the game world. Once a sufficient amount of the game world is unlocked, the tasks given to the player during the game become harder and harder. The first few tasks in the game include finding a lost cat in your village and returning it to its owner, and to rescue some kids in a cave that have been kidnapped by monkeys. Later in the game, your quests become something like "Find item A in land B, and then show item A to person C so they can give you item D", with all the variables becoming vague descriptions of the items or places. During this first game session, I've made absolutely no progress on my current game quest. From talking to almost every character in the waterworld (Zora's domain), I've gathered that I have to show this fish drawing that I have to one of these water people, but I haven't found out where they are. I'll look in the game guides online and find out what I'll have to do.
