    aleezy23's spiderman: shattered dimension (PS3)

    [October 28, 2012 02:10:42 PM]
As all of you should know there are many different versions of a web-slinger known as, Spider-Man. Developed by Beenox Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions focuses on four different Spider-Man characters each within their own time. The main characters have their own world, art style, gameplay that keeps the player engaged and wanting for more. For example, The Amazing Spider-Man is a more modern world, while 2099’s world is more futuristic. Amazing Spider-Man’s world has amazing environments and his web based combat felt swift and strong. Plus, I loved going through 2099’s neon style environment and the free-falling combat made his world very intense. Ultimate Spider-Man’s world puts you in the black suit giving you up close but also range based combat. Plus, Ultimate Spider-Man is equipped with a rage meter that fills up the more you defeat your enemies, giving you a power boost that helps when you are surrounded by numerous foes. Yet, out of all the Spider-Man universes Spider-Man Noir was the most fun, because even though it isn’t an in-your face all out bash gameplay, it has stealth based levels where the shadows are your friend and silent takedowns are a must. Noir’s stealth and silent gameplay is much like Batman: Arkham Asylum/City.
Even with each boss fight regardless of which universe extends to head-on quick-time events on the boss themselves, and the environment (rocks, walls, pillars, etc.) to take them down instead of just attacking at the large health bar. I also enjoyed the Web of Destiny challenges, which are side tasks within the main story. The challenges allow Spider-Man to gain new moves, costumes, collectibles that you gain when you complete parts of the story in special ways, if it was taking down an enemy or running through the map in a certain amount of time.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is a great game it does have its issues with the camera when climbing walls or you zip to fast on screen, but it does give non-stop action with new surprises and gameplay with each level and universe.
