jp's Wario Ware, Inc: Mega Microgame$ (GBA)

    [November 19, 2003 01:42:32 PM]
I had a bit of trouble finishing the final batch of games. In order to offset the frustration I went back and played some of the other levels. Lo and behold, new mini-games appeared! It seems that the game "holds on" to a few minigames and only shows them to you once you've cleared the level and come back for more. I can see a bit more replayability than I had originally anticipated. This is a good thing. On the other hand, there isn't really thaaaat much replayability. All in all, it is a fun game. Bot very deep, but very broad. (you could play Dr. Wario for hours...hehehe).

Yesterday, on the way back home I was able to pass not 1 but 3 of the stages. Either I was in some sort of superstate or it was just plain easy. (I passed all but 1 on the first try). This means that at the moment I only have 1 more stage to pass and it's game over. That would be kind of sad... there is some replayability in 2 solo-games that appeared and there are a bunch of two-player ones as well. Oh well, lets hope there are some surprises in store!

I've just passed Jimmy (for the 2nd time) and am now trying out three new sets of games. One of these, I can't remember the name, is actually a change from the previous. Instead of twitchy type think/react fast, there are memory like tests! (and some pattern matching ones). I was definitely surprised by them and was obviously not able to pass them. :-(

I've passed a few more "levels". Jimmy has appeared again which is cool, but some of the games are repeating. Instead of doing something once, you now have to do it twice. That was a bit of a letdown, but not thaaaat much of a let down. I also did the jumprope thing and beat the highscore on my first try!!! Yay!

I was really curious about this game and tried it out on an emulator. Now I'm glad to say that I'm playing the real thing, and it is really fun! I cleared the 1rst two "levels" before time ran out but was able to look at the third one. It is SOOOO cool. At times I feel like I'm having flashbacks to games of yore...just enough to remember them and go, Wow! I lost a few games simply because of the fact that I was stunned by the "source" of the microgame.

I will definitely be playing this some more!

This is really different, old skool and extremely fun. Broad in its entertainment (lots of different things to do) but not too deep. For some, the excitement may wear of fast.
