I was looking further into the stereotypes of the game and I have come to the conclusion that as suggest in class they are meant to instantly tell you something. Like for example you should not mess with those guy on the corner as there are black and have bandanas on and are armed. Come to think of it I saw very few white males in this game so far that were not cop or city personal. Also I noticed that most of the women that were walking seemed to be dressed in the hooker style and all talked like one. This I believe is not the game to get positive role models from. Though in a closing note I wonder if the stereotypes were turned would they have the same effect. If those were some white kid on the corner would I have had second though about attacking them , I am not sure .

On an attempted at social study as someone else in the class had done I went around committing random acts of depravity to see what would happen. And the game is very true to stereotypes I discovered . The crazy taxi that almost ran me over and tried to was driven by a Mexican or an Asian . Furthermore the group of young black males hanging out on the street corner were not only up to no good but all were carrying automatic weapons. And it might have been the poor coloring of this game but I could have sworn to see coke ( or something white) on the nose of the main character a number of cut-scenes.

Upon further playing it struck me as how different the game is then other version . Maybe it is the age of it but the lack of cars and the staler environments failed to fully convey the idea of urban blight to me it.

Additional what is up with the cops in all of these games sure if your begin chased by Uzi wielding thugs in a car the cops do not response but hit one person and they show up. This to me is kind of a break from reality. Even if during that chase scene civilians are killed the cops do not response they only do if you were the one that hit the civilian.

When I first started playing what struck me right away is the fact that the game is far more stereotypical than I have imaged. I have played other version of the game and fide this one almost offense as it seems to really overblown some of the stereotypes .

I think that the game could have approached this issue in the manner of some of the "ghetto" films and handled it either in a way that is mocking for the humor or in a sensitive manner not in the full blown racist manner this is. I men from playing vice city the way the Cuban were handle was wrong but funnier then the treatment of the stereotypes in this game.
