This is my third and final game log. Like I’ve said before, I’m not a gamer. I was really hoping that this assignment, which forced me to play, would change that. Or at least maybe get into a video game other than super mario bros. unfortunately, it did not. I understand that playing this game can let you "live" like a gangster and that games can let you live out a fantasy however, this gratuitous killing and gang life is not appealing. I was also pretty bored walking around and 'killing' people on my street. Unless you chose to go on a mission, you just wondered around killing people. I guess I can sort of see the appeal but I personally don't find it appealing. I wouldn’t think that this game is appropriate for children unless they have the maturity and are old enough to separate fact from fiction. I think that most adults can but children can’t and shouldn’t be playing a game that is this violent. I’m glad that I had this experience but I think I’ll stick with Mario, even if I still haven’t been able to save the princess.

So, last night was my second time playing. I realized that no matter what I did I had to make bad choices. I tried to be good, I really did but i was getting nowhere. In order to gain money, respect and any sort of power you have to be bad, there’s no other choice; I also was getting bored wondering around. It was definatly more fun being bad. Since I am not very skilled at this game I found out that the police can arrest you pretty quickly if you don’t get away. I also learned that you get out of jail just as quickly. I’m grateful that the justice system isn’t that way in real life. I attempted the mission that I did yesterday but, just like yesterday, Big Smoke and the other guys were way ahead of me on the bikes and I was on my own. I’m hoping that I get far enough in my last play of the game to get to another mission or at least not continuously get arrested.

This was my first GTA experience. I have never been much of a gamer, well, unless you include Brickbreaker or the Atari my dad and I used to play when I was little. I truely loved pong when I was 7. Graffics have definatly improved since the 80's. Being my frist time, I just walked around at first and tried to figure out how to do perofrm various functions. I did my best to not kill or steal; it didnt last very long. I wasnt gaining money or respect and realy enjoyed getting little better at the game. I attemped my first mission and quickly realized my inablitly to maneuver on a bike, let alone a car. Hopefully tomorrow ill be able to go further in the game and see what other illegal activities are in store for CJ.
