I am not a big fighting game fan, so it may seem like a strange thing for me to pick a fighting game to write a gamelog on. The main reason I picked it was that I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and see how the genre has changed over the time I was avoiding it.

Overall, the game is pretty good. The character designs are nice and the battles are not too easy or too hard... except for the final boss, but that's to be expected. Regardless, I beat him... after 8 or so trys.

The controls are a bit annoying because the X button is used for blocking. Normally, in many games that I have played that have fighting game style controls, X is used for the standard attack and Square is used to block. I got used to it, but I still ended up losind a couple of times because of my old reflexes.

I just fought a very interesting boss. While I was on Old Miltia, making my way to Labyerinthos (or however you spell that name), my mechs came across a battleship that seemed to have crashed. As I walked across its deck, the crew spotted me and we got into a fight. This battle consisted of a large deck-mounted gun and four annoying enemies that acted as support. What was unusual about this fight was that the boss had a forcefield that blocked attacks EXCEPT for on a few specific turns. Even worst, it could revive the annoying enemies if I happened to kill them. by using stock and boost creatively, I was able to deal major damage to the boss on one of his vulnerable turns with my special arracks, temporarily disabling his shields and enemy reviving skills. After a lengthy battle, I won and moved on to my next challenge.

Despite all the cinematics, I like this game. The characters are interesting (although I question their fashion sense) and the plot is interesting.

I really enjoyed watching the scene where Shion steal the transporter that was built for KOS-MOS and gets ambushed, only to be saved by KOS-MOS herself. The ship's transformation sequence was really cool, but I wish that the mech it turned into was as powerful in real battles as it was in the cutscene.

Also, I wish that I could revisit Second Miltis after leaving. I have several unfinished sidequests there and I want to finish them!

Here I am, playing another video game whan I should be working on homework...

Anyways, I got this game recently in the mail when my mom sent me a care package. I decided to try it. I got to say, I'm impressed. The cinematics are beautiful and the battle system is refreshingly unique. Unlike most RPGs, Xenosaga II does not have random encounters. Instead, the enemies walk around on the screen like the player and, when they bump into you, you begin a battle. While you are fighting, you can either attack, use ether skills (magic), or stock. when you use stock, you don't take any action that turn but next turn, you can use extra attacks. You can save up to 3 extra stock which you can use in one turn. Why waste it in one turn? Because each extra attack is more powerful than the last.

My favorite character so far is MOMO because her battle voice sounds... interesting. It has the sound quality of the technology people in the 1960s thought the 1980s would have. I don't know what it's called. I just like it.
