    Jan 19th, 2007 at 01:29:59     -    Katamari Damacy (PS2)

After playing Katamari Damacy for a while, I figured that I am really bad at this game. Even so, I can't really stop playing it. The graphics in this game seems to be very simple and colorful, making it an eye catcher for even children and women of all ages. The one thing that I find most amusing in this game is the background music. For some reason I found it to be quite entertaining and funny at the same time. One fall back for this game is that it seems to get quite repetetive. I had already began to feel that this game was getting boring by the fourth stage where the objective was to make the ball 1m within 10min. As I play this game, I've noticed that I happen to get frustrated whenever I get stuck in a corner. It's either I get stuck in a corner or by a wall and is unable to turn around quickly enough or I fall into an area where I am unable to pick up any of the large items and is unable to climb up the steps. Other than that, I believe that this game is still fun and suitable for all ages and is quite entertaining despite the fact that over time, it gets repetetive. It's always the simplest and random games such as Katamari Damacy that attracts my attention.

Well, first things first, in my opinion, Katamari Damacy seems to be one of those addictive video games. As a player, one plays a prince who's objective is pretty simple: to pick up objects with a ball. The player starts off with a simple ball. By rolling around the area, the ball is able to attract small objects such as nails, candy, and blocks. As the ball size increases, the player is then able to attract much larger objects such as birds, frogs, shoes, and guns. However, even so, the challenge of this game is that the player has to get the ball size to reach a certain size within a short amount of time. Being my first time play Katamari Damacy, it is very addicting. Although I spent awhile to figure out the controls of the game, it is in fact very simple and enjoyable game for all to play.

Jan 12th, 2007 at 03:21:00     -    Super Mario Kart (NES)

Just awhile ago in my previous log, I played SMK in the 50cc class round, but this time I tried playing it in the 100cc class round. This time I Yoshi was my main character for now. Compared to Toad, Yoshi goes a bit faster but doesn't really do as good on turns as Toad or Koopa. Once again, bananas was a common item I kept getting. However, this time I did get some more varieties. The challenge in the 100cc class round was a little bit more advanced as compared to the 50cc class round depending on the stages one tends to pick. Racing at Koopa Beach is probably the most amusing for me as I tend to get amused with the little fishes jumping around as compared to the Choco Island, which I completely hate to race at (Star Cup).

Well, today was the first time I have played Super Mario Kart in the longest time. I believe it has been a couple years since I've played this old school game. SMK has been a long time favorite of mine and I have never really became tired of this game. For today, I've used Toad, as he's always been a favorite character of mine in the Mario series. As I played, I ALWAYS seem to end up getting a banana peel as I cross over those question marks on the ground. I have only gotten one, just one red shell as everything else are banana peels. And for me, banana peels just don't work out as nobody ever falls for that. The stages are still all easy for me and Ghost Valley and Bowser Castle stages still remain my favorites.
