    Mar 4th, 2008 at 00:05:43     -    Bust-A-Move Ghost (PSP)

    GAMEPLAY:

In the next 45 mintues I tried all the different puzzles. My favorite one was the mix'em up puzzle where the colored balls would change colors randomly. I liked it the best because it made the game even more challenging. My least favorite was the ghost puzzle because it was kind of like the original puzzles so it wan't much of a difference. The hardest puzzle was the seesaw puzzle where the screen was like the seesaw and the balls were the balances. This puzzle made me the most frustrated just because I kept on losing.

The game was still fun because I was able to try an array of puzzles. It gave the game flavor. Even though I tried over and over again the game is still hard and challenging. This is what makes me want to keep playing the game so I can try to get better at it.

    DESIGN:

The levels on this game is good because when the levels the go up, the balls are arranged in a more difficult way and sometimes there will be more balls. The higher levels are definently more challenging. The game keeps the player interesting by its levels and various puzzles to choose from. The player may not like one of the puzzles but they have several others to choose to play. The differnt special balls also makes the game more interesting just because they can help the player but might also disadvantage the player.

The game can be frustrating because it is a game that is easy to learn but hard to master. It takes a lot of tries to really get used to it, but that doesn't mean that you're good at it. The frustrating part may be a good thing because then it shows that the game is challenging and I urge the player to try over again. However, it can mean a bad thing because the player might keep losing and will not be interesting in the game anymore because the player has not recieved any reward.

    Mar 3rd, 2008 at 23:21:28     -    Bust-A-Move Ghost (PSP)

    SUMMARY:

Bust-A-Move Ghost is a simple game consisted of little colored balls and various puzzles. In the game, the player is presented different set ups of colored balls where they shoot their own little balls. The point of the game is to match the balls and get rid of all of them before they reach a red line toward the bottom of the screen.

    GAMEPLAY:

The characters in this game are very cute and cuddy looking. I was able to choose which character I wanted to be. The game is very colorful and has a fun-based feel. Even the music is happy and up-beat. The game is not hard to learn but can be difficult at times. This is what makes it challenging. I had to figure out where I wanted to shoot the ball and how to aim it in order to get rid of the other balls.

The game was fun for me to play just because of the cuteness and because it was challenging. It's like one of those games that you can play over and over again, such as solitaire. The game doesn't really have a story because it's just different puzzles.

It was interesting to play because different levels will present special balls beside the colored ones. Some of the special balls make the game easier and some of them make them harder. The music also is interesting because the closer the balls get to the red line, the faster the music gets. When the music gets faster I start to panick because I know that I need to act fast and smart to beat the game before the balls reach the red line.

    Feb 20th, 2008 at 23:12:11     -    Katamari Damacy (PS2)

    GAMEPLAY:

This time I made Cancer! It was really challenging because I didn't pick up enough crabs the first time to make the constellation. It took me three tries to get enough crabs. Even though it was hard, it was still really fun and I felt accomplished when I made Cancer.

The game is still fun even though I'm doing the same thing over and over again. It's good that you need to make the ball a certain size in order to make a star because then it makes the game harder. I love the fact that as the ball gets bigger, I can see more of the world I'm in.

The best part is when the ball is really big and you can start collecting buildings and bridges. The game is very creative in the way the worlds are laid out. You first start in a small area and then find yourself crossing oceans.

    DESIGN:

The levels in this game are planned out well because they do get harder and harder. You must meet the right number of objects or size of the ball in a certain amount of time in order to successfully make a star or constellation. This ties into the challenges of the game. Because you have a limited time to pick up objects, it makes the game more challenging.

Another challenge in the game is when the ball is just starting out, you have to watch out for bigger moving objects such as rats. If you bump into these bigger moving objects, you will bounce off of it and some of the objects you picked up will fall off the ball.

The reward structure in the game is good because the player wants to beat the levels to complete the starry sky. It feels good when you've beat a really hard level and you also have a new star or constellation to show for your hard work.

The game keeps the player interesting by allowing the prince to enter different worlds on Earth. The variety of objects and world space are very creative and interesting. Running over and picking up people are fun and funny to the player, especially because the people scream and yell.

    Feb 20th, 2008 at 22:48:53     -    Katamari Damacy (PS2)

    SUMMARY:

Katamari Damacy is a third-person video game. The main character, the Prince, has to rebuild stars and constellations for his father, the King of All Cosmos . The prince goes through different places on Earth, picking up various objects with a small ball which then becomes a star.

    GAMEPLAY:

Katamari Damacy is really cute but also kind of strange because of the way that the King of All Cosmos talks. At first I didn't really know what to do, but then it was pretty self-explainatory when things started to stick to the ball. I really enjoyed how you can pick up just about anything, even animals! The game can be funny too because when you pick up animals or humans, they make a noise.

The different places on Earth are interesting because the ground isn't just one level but you can go up on hills and tables. I really liked how all the worlds are always so colorful and how the objects usually pertain to the world you are in. Sometimes I will find new routes and rooms as the ball gets larger.

The story of the game is cool because I really like stars and when I complete a level and make a star or constellation, I feel like I am making my own little world.
