So. I made the decision last night to carry on with the invasion. As in maths the other day (mucking around) I calculated there was a 40% chance of winning each battle. And with the amount of catapults I had it wasn't that bad odds.

I took Delhi, the capital, first. They way I could break the back of the Indians and cease all organisation within Gandi's island cities.

After easily seizing Delhi I sent my main offensive force west to lay siege to Calcutta (their biggest city.. size 19). The rest of my armies (around 15) desended onto the lower cities which were well fortified.

The Indians didn't have the time or the resources to complete more then two Musketeers in the end :D But if I didn't take their capital in my landing strike that might have been a different story.

Finally, after 10+ hours of this game.. I CONQUERED THE WORLD! :D

It felt great.. even better when I checked out my civ rating: 107%! My best yet by far.

Conclusion? Never give up.. sometimes overwhelming numbers can counter any superior technology ^_^

Next I hope to start a brand new game. Stay tuned for a complete game log as I go from sticks and stones to a mighty empire (I hope :P )

Okay, carrying on from last log.. I ammassed my armies and loaded them into sails. I had 50 catapults ready to invade the Indian land.. when.. they discovered Gunpowder! I was sooo annoyed. I mean, it took at least 2 hours to get all those armies and prepare them for war. Now they are but useless against the Indian Musketeers. *sigh*

Okay, so I'm finishing off a King level game I've been playing for about 12 hours or so. There was 7 civs but the Russians wiped out two early in the game. I used a 10+ catapult army to rid the world of the Greeks (hey, they were on my continent!) then started the long Russian campaign. It took around 2000 game years and 8 reallife hours of carefully manuvering my vet. catapults on the Russian continent but eventually I took the last Russian city. Then I built up a even more mightly catapult army and a fleet to sail them to the French island. 7 sail boats set off with 3 catapults each (some had 2 catapults and 1 phalanx). The French had tough costal cities but once I got a foot-hold I soon owned that island. Now it's just me and the Indians.

I'm mustering up my forces and soon will launch an invasion like this world has never seen. I've already got just under 40 vetran catapults under my command and I'll build around 20 to 30 more before landing on Indian soil. It will be tough.. they have large cities with many soldiers. But with my near infinite resources I'm going to step up to the challenge. Wish me luck :)
