    Shawn's Wii Sports (Wii)

    GAMEPLAY
After playing Wii Sports longer I have some comments. I feel that the gameplay gets dull after awhile if you are playing alone. There is no story involved to keep you going and going until you finish. I feel that to have a long and lasting game session you need to have friends all playing and going against each other. Competition is what really drive games. To have a game where you are competing not only on gaming ability but also in a physical way. This elevates the competitiveness side of things immensely. To have two people boxing against each other is actually very fun. They are both standing next to each while controller their character in the game and they are punching and moving around the play area. Wii Sports really is something new when it comes to interactive game play. With friends or at a party I think this is one of the best games that you could put on to play. Really fun.

    DESIGN
The design of Wii Sports is interesting. It is a very minimal game other than the the movement and interactive control system. The graphics are just enough to get by. The game itself would never hold up if it were not for the controls.

The interesting things is that it works. The controls are enough to keep people playing and having fun with this game. The creators were able to get away with other things being minimal while having the control system be brand new and unique. It also helped that everyone who has a Wii should have got this game with it. Ti served as a great introduction to the control scheme and the system itself.

One thing that I would like to point out however is that as interesting and unique the movement and controller system is, it is far from perfect. To make the bat swing it is really just move the controller in the right direction at the right speed. It is like triggering a set control "button". I feel that the controls are actually very limiting.

It would be truly amazing if while you are waiting for the pitch, you move the controller a little, or you shift your weight to the left and the character on the screen displays your movements. When you swing it is precisely because your controller swung.

    SUMMARY
I am writing my game long on Wii Sports. In Wii sports you can play Tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. To play you use the unique controllers and actually do the movements in real life that you would like to see your character do. Wii Sports is packaged with every Wii Console. It is an introduction to the control interface and an introduction to the game console itself.

    GAMEPLAY

The first time ever playing the Wii, I played Wii Sports. It is a very unique experience for gamers. Here you are used to using a controller with buttons and joysticks and then you are given a controller that responds to movement. So you leave the realm of mastery behind and enter into a whole new experience. In the beginning my timing was way off. For playing tennis, I would watch as the ball went past me as I would start to swing or I would swing way too early. This was just a practice thing. The learning curve is pretty small and not after too long I felt like a pro.
I really enjoyed boxing. I felt more involved and was very into the game. The game play is fun because the player is actually involved in a physical way. You are standing up, and are focusing on the screen. You move your whole body around and kind of forget that you look like a complete idiot to anyone else. It is very different than other games, you feel as if you are the character in the game.

What makes Wii Sports even more fun is the social aspect of it. It is a great social "party" game. It is a game that you can boot up and play with people who never have played it before. The experienced are not amazingly better than the newbies. Try doing that with Call of Duty 4!

It is a great introduction to the Wii's controller scheme and system. It shows off what can be done while not being too advanced or complex. It is a very good game to be attached to each console.
