I have been playing this NFS game during the summer. The graphics were great and there were many varieties of racing cars to choose from. It was great except for a few elements. I had to admit that the gameplay was awkward. When I try to steer a car on the corners, the car does not turn as well as I wanted it to. This is due to poor response controls and that many vehicles in the game have poor handling. I steer around corners, but the car hits the guardrail and sometimes falls of the track. This game will only let me have five resets per racing event. If I drive even a little off-track, the game resets me to the last checkpoint I passed. I wreck my car many times very easily; this explains that the driving response controls are wacky. Everytime I am on the highway, I have to pay very close attention to the game in order to hold the lead. I crash a lot, and it takes many tries to get myself in first place in many of the races. Once I take the lead of 1st place, the other racers seem well equipped to retake my lead. This makes playing the game a chore rather than something I enjoy. It becomes repetitive as I play the game, and I usually want to drive differently all the time, not circuits all the time. Another embarrassing aspect is the storyline, which is really pointless. after a functional introduction to characters Jack and Christina Hendricks' voice-on-the-radio Sam, the writers seem to be lackluster. There are some quick-time events built in mob chases and foot pursuits, but the plot does not develop during the story. Story is too cliché, oversimplified, and never goes into complete details as to why Jack races across the United States to get cash and about the mob.
