jp's The Walking Dead: Road to Survival (iPd)

    [September 18, 2015 04:48:12 PM]
I don't know why I decided to play this - maybe I just felt like it might be different from what I expected? It isn't.

It's a standard "free to play" game built on timers, RPG-style progression, and lotteries. Sigh.

As I've played more I've realized that there is some strategy to the combat game (who to attack when matters, and I've realized that fighting zombies is different from fighting humans). There's also the base building and bla blabla. All pretty standard stuff.

At this point, what I'm finding most annoying is how the game subverts what (to me at least) is the point of the comic book series (and possibly the show? I haven't watched enough to know). In this game you spend more time shooting, killing, and looting other players/humans than you do trying to survive and build something up. This game is the opposite of "hey, lets all build a better world together, can't we get along". And I find that kind of sad.

I'm just going to go ahead and delete the game now. :-(
