edwardtan1211's GameLog for Nier Automata (PC)

    Thursday 27 September, 2018

Nier Automata starts out raising a few questions about what it means to be human. Often times, no biological material exists in their bodies anymore, including their brains. In one specific, but blunt case, a man holds on to his last remaining piece of organic matter, his leg. I've really yet to see someone who's already lost all their original parts feel differently about their own body, so I'm not really feeling the emotional weight.

Good job Edward! You’ve got the starts of some good thoughts, but you could do more to reflect on them. Does the linear feeling of the game change how it feels thematically for you? What shortcomings does the game have that makes the “emotional weight” fall flat? If humanity is not in the ‘original parts’ what is it?
