awiley's GameLog for Super Smash Brothers (N64)

    Monday 28 January, 2008

    Gamelog #2

GAMEPLAY: For my second game session I was able to play this game using the multiplayer interface. This allowed me to actually play against other people. This added many new challenges, and was much more interesting because I was no longer playing against AI. The multiplayer allowed me to pick any character I want (my opponents could do the same) then I was allowed to choose any of the levels that I wanted. The multiplayer also added a new twist by adding items that appear on the level at random. These items, from other Nintendo games, add new ways to damage my opponents, or allow me to heal myself.

DESIGN: Super smash bros uses 3D characters to fight in a 2D world. There was no storyline, only a simple melee. I was impressed at the variety of moves that each character could make, and how unique each move was is specific character and how they existed in previous Nintendo games. The multiplayer setting was the best part of this game allowing me to test my skills against other players, and kept the game interesting every time I polayed.

There are interesting points, but they are not elaborated on. More needs to be said in future logs.
