    plertudo's GameLog for L.A. Noire (PS3)

    Thursday 30 June, 2011

I've been wanting to play this game for a long time.

The interrogation aspect of the game is not of my taste.
I feel frustrated to get the answer wrong and having to restart the game a lot during the first few case.
Turns out it is easier for me to look at the walkthrough instead.
The curiosity of how the story plays out got over my self honesty to play the game straight.

Driving around the city is tricky. The game is not made for driving, it is hard to control your car. I'm trying not to hit a car and pedestrian (The less you hit stuff, the better star you got at the end of the case)
I don't like this constrain because it creates conflicts between two aspect.
Because I should try to follow the law so I don't hit anything. this means It will took more time to get to the next location. Also there sometimes will be street crime when you are driving and respond to a radio (I only enjoy this because of achievement)

I think Finding clues in scene is the best aspect of the game.
The sound and vibration hint is really neat. it gives you an idea of how much further you are in that scene.

Somehow I couldn't play this game for too long or I would fall asleep.
And I did fall asleep while I am driving a car to the scene. (Just like I used to fall asleep when I am driving back home from my university , luckily I didn't hit anything unlike in this game, I did hit a few car and broke dozens of red light)

My understanding is that the wonky driving is to encourage realism. Those old cards weren't easy to handle... Do you believe that?
