    BONUS ENTRY!!!

    Done.

I finally beat the game. And by beat - I mean completed. Killed everything, collected every item, and made it to the final cut-scene.

Having seen the Island of Lost Souls, I see how this game tried again at satire. The various people on the island were trapped in Hell because of how Christianity or at least the version being criticized qualifies people for Hell. Eg, there were various people who had not even heard of Christianity in Hell, as well as many honorable people. Aside from the items that gave you bonuses, I feel like this was the first piece of actual satire in a long time.

The game then went on with more copyright infringement. All the enemies were stolen from Doom, as were many of the weapons, and the final boss was stolen from South Park. Doom is an open source game, so I don't think the makers are breaking any rules there, but to steal from South Park, too, is kind of immoral in my opinion. But maybe they asked or something.

Watching the final cutscene I saw some more attempt at satire. All the speakers at the event had some idea of what caused the event and their own idea on how to fix it. The first speaker probably spoke more with the game's message of saying if "A caused B and then C, we'd stop A" But then again the game seems to want to say what the main characters did was right so I'm not sure.

I also still don't understand the German. Was it something Eric did in real life, too, or something?

After watching the slideshow from Hell, I made it to Hell. They made a bad joke about the Twin Towers, too. I'm really not sure what the intention of the game was. I'm almost certain it was all for shock value. Particularly because of the Twin Tower joke that had nothing to do with anything. I found all the cutscenes, I checked online to make sure I never missed anything, and they pretty much showed them being moody or picked on (at least in their minds). Now apparently I am a demon god in Hell. There were about three people spared in the whole thing. I also noticed crying healed them. The designers were definitely just going for shock value.

So at first I thought maybe the game had a message. And now I'm doubting that. At first I thought it was all sarcasm. It might still be, but it might have lost its meaning somewhere along the way. I finally got to what seemed like the core gameplay. Many of the people don't fight back. You just run around killing stereotypes. I also noticed that you don't kill them when they die, it said defeated or fainted or something other than die, which I thought was interesting. There were some random poems, flashbacks, and movie clips, too. I am starting to think this game was made by some kid. I also heard the game was made using a tool called RPG Maker. That would explain a lot. The game seems very unprofessional, so it only lends more to my suspicion that it wasn't made for a reason except maybe shock value. Also, the game rewards you with items sometimes and calls you brave.

So, this site is really poorly organized, in my opinion, so take two:

The game is strange. The font is miserably hard to read. I have no idea what they are saying half the time and an l seems to be a t. I was also surprised the game was made by Japanese companies.

That aside, I sensed a lot of sarcasm. Items have sarcastic and strange descriptions and bonuses. Like Doom gave me extra damage. I am left to wonder the game maker's intentions. It wasn't to entertain - this game is miserably boring and a ton of dialog. I got to plant the bombs, and get the guns and go through some more dialog so maybe the game will pick up. No shooting yet. One of the kids seemed pretty occupied with letting everyone know the people that helped him - like bought him guns, and his family, and his friends weren't at fault. The other one just seemed to want revenge. Whether that was the case with the real people or just the characters, I don't know.
