    Day 2

Finally put aside what I’m so tempted to do which is just drive around and hit, shoot, kill and rob people and finally play some missions. Mission 1 took me on a little bike ride along the city and was kind of nice to take in the view and not to mention show me where the bike park was. On my way there I was shot at and heard plenty of racial slurs geared towards Mexicans and African Americans, which you tend to get a lot when taking a stroll anywhere in this game. Ethically this game just keeps showing the stereotypical inner city life that does very much exist in California, is this right to show fun in what others feel fear in everyday in these types of neighborhoods?

The next two levels were mainly about making your image street worthy. Between the hair cuts to robbing the pizza place and then having to tag over your rivalry gangs graffiti you’re clearly out to make a presentable image for yourself to fit in with the other urban civilians. Is this what you have to do to make it in these kinds of neighborhoods? Whether this is right or wrong do you really have a choice just based on survival purposes alone? Then the next level consists of beating down crack dealers at a crack den, I mean this is the way of life for some and there simply portraying this in a video game bringing it to your safe suburban living room.

    Day 1

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, what is there to say on an ethical and moral view besides everything! You rob, steal, kill, crush, maul, punch, kick, and not to mention a whole lot of shit talking through gangs and just about everyone else. Living in Carl “CJ” Johnson’s world is always a trip and a half. So the story basically starts out when you head to your mother’s funeral and get framed for a murder by two cops that you apparently have met before, which I don’t remember it from past games, and dropped in a place of all these other gangs.

I found this all so far pleasing for the main fact that they are pulling stories from old games and bringing them in and the game play is always good. It seems that everyone in this game so far hates you but it’s just business as usual for old CJ. In the first ten minutes playing I simply drove around killing plenty of people via car and just plain fighting. I made some cash by robbing and shooting people and went into a few buildings and murdered a bunch of people as well. Ethically this game hits upon a lot of obvious stuff and shooting people for the fun of it is numero uno for sure. Is it right to get used to the feeling of killing which in turn you become so desensitized that it’s just normal? Is it ok that to survive in the game the easiest way is to thrive off of other people’s means by murdering them then taking their money? The more I play I feel a sense of addictiveness already becoming and since now I have a strong feel of the environment I think heading towards the mission/story line is going to be an interesting venture…
