Seek and Destroy (PS2)

Status: Finished playing
I started playing this game on Wednesday 13 August, 2003  //  I stopped playing this game on: Friday 7 November, 2003
Current opinion of this game
Don't look at the graphics but enjoy romping around blowing stuff up. It's simple, lighthearted and fun. Not for the sim hardcore.

Hehehehe... the extra part are some wings that enable my tank to fly (this isn't the first time I've seen this..). It's kinda cool, though I think I'll shelve this game for a while. It was great fun though, don't get me wrong!

Yay! I picked this up again today and played a few missions and finished it! It isn't too hard a game but it was quite enjoyable. There is always something special about blasting everything to bits in a tank. I really liked the arcade quality to the tank (hey, ever heard of super-deformed tanks?) as well as the upgrades that you could

Every mission you get a new tank to add to your roster, by finishing the game it loss like a got a secret part! Whooohooo!

Hmm.. Ran into some frustrating issues on the last mission I played. It was the usual problem of "find the last enemy to take him out". This time, the problem was compounded because this rogue enemy tank had fallen down a ledge (by mistake?) and was trapped. My problem was getting to it without exiting the level. Oh well, in the end I was succesful...I just hope this doesn't happen again.

Played a bit more over the weekend. It actually is getting more interesting. This is a pretty good game, light hearted, but fun. I almost got stuck for a while until I discovered that you can talk to other "tanks" in town. In particular, I HAD to talk to a commander that told me to get ready for a sea-voyage (in other words, buy some sea-accesories for the tank..such as torpedoes and a sea-radar). Once I talked to him (I had already accesorized) I "unlocked" the next missions. Phew. For a while there I thought something was wrong since one of the towns I had liberated still had the enemy flag over it (usually, it changes to your flag..)

This is a budget title. It shows as far as graphics and sound are concerned, butI'm not concerned. There is something strangely gripping about this game that has kept me hooked perhaps longer than it should have. It's probably the way you earn cash to buy tank upgrades and then can't wait to try them out. It's arcade action is also refreshing. Let's wait and see how this holds up over time.
