Current opinion of this game
Interesting take on a skiing game. Quite social and relaxed is the feeling I got.

It's kind of hard to get a solid impression of a game when there's a 6-year old running the show, flipping through the menus, and deciding what gets done.

My first experience playing We Ski was refreshing. I was expecting a game that involved mostly picking races and then, well, racing. My reading so far is that We Ski is more about Skiing than racing, which makes it an interesting experience for cross-generational play. The core of the game isn't built around competitions (and menus leading to races), rather, it's situated on a mountain. As far as I've played skiing games (ie, not much), this is the first game I've run into in which you can enjoy the activity of skiing (rather than the rush of the sport of skiing). My son and I enjoyed making our way down the mountain with no goal in mind other than not falling over. We simply enjoyed the view, making (somewhat) leisurely turns). Now that I think about it, the game's name is more than an idle pun on the console for which it's made. I guess I could describe We Ski as a skiing game for tourists rather than athletes.

Yes, there are races and I did get to see some of them...
