I didn't think I would finish this game before posting something about it!

It's hard to describe what I enjoy about Loco Roco. The sequel is largely indistinguishable from the original in a good way. It feels the same. If anything, playing the sequel was less frustrating at times and more enjoyable as a play experience. It just feels nice to bounce and move the Loco Roco around. This is a game that is largely about two things: the joy of discovering secret places and locations, and the joy of traveling from one end to another. It isn't a hard game per se, although it is hard to find everything. It's mostly about enjoying the scenery and the movement, especially the scripted moments when the LocoRoco are whisked away on Rube Goldberg-like paths that are imaginative and genuinely fun to watch. It's even fun to navigate to the next area!

The inter-areas navigation is pretty interesting. There are a bunch of different locations that you navigate with the L and R buttons moving from one to the other like a circular linked list. Each area has 3-4 "missions" or things to see/do. However, the don't open up in a linear fashion and sometimes, after clearing a mission, you have to move around to discover in what area new mission has opened up. It sounds like a chore, but it isn't really, it's quite enjoyable to be honest!

I might continue to play the game for a while to explore all the little things that have opened up, are available, or provide some sort of diversion. There's a lot of them to be honest. Some are mini-games while others are simply things to maintain or mess around with. The Mui Mui house being an example of the former and the stamp book an example of the latter.
