Current opinion of this game
It's Katamari. Hasn't evolved or changed all that much.

For some reason I thought I'd play this game as a "light-hearted" filler of sorts. Pffff..THAT was a mistake.

I loved the original Katamari as well as the PSP version. This one is more of the same. Not necessarily a bad thing. However, I had forgotten how incredibly frustrating the game can be. There are some missions (I've already completed the game once) that I would swear I only beat due to blind luck. Or, I failed to beat them earlier due to bad luck.

It's the time limit I really hate, to be honest. At times you're rolling around collecting stuff and then BAM. You lose.

To be fair, this game does have quite a few levels with alternate win/lose conditions. Some of them are quite neat. I enjoyed having to roll a katamari of a certain size (trying to get as close as possible), or trying to roll up certain kinds of objects. The game also looks wonderful and a lot of the new rendering techniques (my favorite is the one in which rollable objects appear in color as opposed to gray-scale).

But still, why do I mostly feel a sense of anger with this game? I did have some fun...but I resent the fact that the most interesting levels won't become available until I beat the game at least once again (in a different mode). Grrr!

Yes, it was the same in the first game - it was a pain to unlock the "eternal" levels. But still, please?!?!
