I was (in my ignorance) surprised when I spotted this game for PS3. I knew it was out for Kinnect, but not Move. Woo hoo!

I really enjoyed Rez and I though that Space Channel 5 was fun...but didn't think that highly of Lumines. So, I wasn't sure if I was off the fanboy bandwagon with regards to Mizuguchi's work. I think I had heard this game described as a spiritual successor to Rez. That inspired confidence in me, but I hadn't realized how much of Rez there is in this game. It REALLY is Rez in so many ways. Unfortunately (from my limited playtime so far), I wish it was more like Rez in other ways.

It's the music, really.

I really got into Rez's music and Child of Eden doesn't quite do it for me on that level. I can't get into the songs as much, or perhaps the songs feel too disconnected from the visuals/narrative? It might be that Rez' abstract visuals just worked better?

I'm really torn at the moment about this. I feel like I should like it more than Rez, but I can't for the wrong sorts of reasons... Sigh.
