It's beautiful, but I hate it. But it's beautiful... but it's so hard. It really is, at times.

I made some pretty significant progress playing mostly by myself. Agony and joy. It really is, because some of the parts are incredibly unforgiving - there are plenty of checkpoints and all that, but it really is an old school platformer in that sense. And it looks wonderful. I'm gushing. But it really does!

Anyways, this is all rather strange for me because I've never really been a fan of Rayman for platforming. It's something about the animation (and physics?) I've never particularly enjoyed. Stranger still is that I don't really like this game UNLESS I'm controlling one of the other characters. The short ones, preferably. (I tried a few, really!) Isn't that weird? I'm not sure if it has to do with Rayman's lack of legs and arms or what...

Ok, so the levels are gorgeous, the animation is delightful...but it's super hard. UNLESS... and I only discovered this sort of by accident.. you play co-op. I played a few levels with my son and it was a real blast. I'm actually quite hopeful we'll be able to get to the end of the game. I just need to check it out from the library again...eek!
