Every now and then I like to play a traditional 2D shooter. This game fits the bill and I enjoyed the fact that you could play it co-op (which makes it a lot easier!) as well as the progression elements. What I didn't enjoy was the gating: in order to unlock later levels you need to get medals for meeting certain objectives in earlier levels. These include: not taking a single hit, killing all the enemies, and rescuing all the soldiers (you get to a point where there's a secondary list of objectives you can do for medals as well).

Things were going fine, making progress slowly, practicing levels and so on until I got to a level that is interesting - to play a few times - but NOT interesting to get the medals on. It's a level designed for you to play without weapons, only dodging, because at the beginning you're fired at by an energy blast. If it hits you, you lose your weapons. Now, it is possible to avoid it continuously - but it's a real pain and I had no fun with that at all. BUT, I sort of had to - to get the medals I needed. So, I decided I didn't want the medals and that it was time to move on to another game.

Oh, I also didn't appreciate the fact that you can buy a laser (as a new weapon) but the ammo is somehow hardly ever available? It felt like a complete waste. It was fun to fire - but you rarely got to fire it.

kudos for original design to Rodrigo Barria
