Again, another positive surprise!

I'm not expecting all that much, and I probably won't play for much longer (there are 90 or so chapters and I've done 20?). But, I've really enjoyed the simple mechanics and how they're layered in what I think is a pretty laid back way. It's a game where you're essentially making auto repairs that consist of multiple steps (e.g. loosen bolts, remove bolts, hammer piece, remove it, put new one, hammer it in, tighten bolts). You can make mistakes - they cost you money, and you earn less money the longer you take. This is all in the context of a story - you play as a young wannabee mechanic who is on the run from the law and you're trying to move up in life into a better car shop. Along the way you need to meet more people by essentially working on your car in order to impress them.

I didn't really get into too much of the kitting your own car out - but I did enjoy the touch mechanics (slide, tap, etc.) for the car fixing. And I appreciated that I wasn't rushed all the time - sure, if I took longer I'd earn less money but it wasn't really a fail state in the way it is in other games (e.g. Trauma Surgeon? Trauma Team? The medical one...) that also have a lot of touch screen mechanics going on.
