I just got "Axe" level. It took me a long time since I've been playing a lot less Gunbound than I used to, but that is due to me playing other games instead.

I'm looking forward to joining a Guild/Clan soon since a friend of mine has gotten a high enough level for that. I don't really know what it means, but it just sounds like a fun/cool thing to do. I've also been saving up some gold in order to buy some neat looking equipment. I've noticed that there are a lot of new things lately, which makes the game more interesting.

I'm a couple of points short of the next level (double stone axe) but I've had less time to play recently. (which is a shame, of course). On the other hand, I tried out one of the other styles of play. It is called Jewel, and instead of having to pound away at opponents you have to nail this little bug-things (called jewels). The first team to make 100 pts. wins. The little bugs are worth 5, 10, 25 or -5 pts. and they can receive damage according to their points value. In other words, the 25 pts bugs are pretty tough little guys.

Yay for GunBound!

I've got enough points to get a new "level" un gunbound. Finally, a stone axe! Hahaha...

This game starts to get on you.. I really want to get enough gold so that I can buy some of the cool suits and stuff you can wear. It just gives your character so much...character.

There is this clan going around called the Santa-something-or-others. (I can't remember the name). They look really neat since they have Santa Claus outfits! Cool.

I can't beleive this games has displaced Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory from my online gaming preference list. I've slowly been learning more about this game and how it works. Most of the important information is on the web, but the website is SO BAD that it really is a pain to try to find anything. I'm pretty sure this is because it is a quick-hash translation of a Korean site, but on the other hand it is also very lacking in terms of general navigability.

I've played a couple of more games and it won't be easy to gain acess to the "goodies". You need a LOT of gold to buy stuff and I'm not very good at this game.. You basically earn gold by taking out enemies, being on the winning team and making good shots. For good shots you get around 20 gold, while winning and killing gets you hundreds. I don't really like that system since it is quite easy for others to "get your kill". I mean, you spend 5 turns pounding on someone until they're almost gone and then some other dude drives the nail into the coffin and runs all the way to the bank. Also, there is no real incentive to teamplay since it doesn't make sense to "gang up" on an enemy (a logical choice otherwise). It basically winds up being everyone for himself and try not to take out your friends. (you can actually LOSE gold by commiting suicide or hitting a friend by mistake).

There is a good rule though, if one of your teammates abandonds the game you get 100 gold as a consolation prize. (after all, it is now harder for you to win). I can see this being exploited but...its only a game, right?

A few friends seem to be hooked on this free online game. If you want to try it out you can download it from www.gunbound.net

The website is horrifically poor in terms learning any thing meaningful about the game. This game is eastern so the english translation may be also particularly poor.

In essence, this game is an online version of Worms where you control only 1 character. It has some cool persistent features so that you can earn gold which you later use to buy your character upgrades and stuff like that. Instead of choosing from multiple weapons you pick a vehicle your character rides and this has 2 types of attacks. The actual gameplay is kind of weak, you basically nail characters that aren't on your team and the scenarios are pretty flat. In worms at least you had worms all over the place...

I have yet to explore the buying new equipment options so these might help add some spice to the game. I've noted that some people I've played against have characters that deal more damage or are wearing different clothing. I presume this is due to special equipment.
