Status: Stopped playing - Got Bored
I started playing this game on Sunday 25 April, 2004  //  I stopped playing this game on: Friday 25 September, 2009
Current opinion of this game
I'm just loving this game. The sensation of speed and danger is great.

OMG. I just looked at the log for this game. Has it really been that long? Phew!

I took it out for a spin tonight and man is it still as good as ever. My hands are a little sore from holding down the accelerator so hard! I'm convinced that you hands have to be "in shape" in order to be competitive at some games.

Anyways, I played the new championship mode I opened...barely won it and then played the next one and lost. (came in third! sheesh!) I also unlocked a new car that...well, it seems really good according to the stats, but all the other cars totally wipe the floor with it in terms of acceleration.

This game is great for a little spin now and then. It seems like whenever I pick it up I'm able to make some progress. This is a very good thing. :-)

Today I was able to finish championship mode! This unlocked a new car and a new championship! (it's called custom championship or something like that). Anyways, I'm looking forward to playing this again some time soon. I can't play it for too long since it is such a fast/adrenalin packed game. I just get to jumpy afterwards!

Last night I played a bit more of this game. I was able to finish one of the pursuit races.

Pursuit races are really fun. Basically, you drive a cop car and have to catch a speeding car. You "catch" the car by bumping it a certain amount of times. All of this before you run out of "track". The track is obviously a bit contrived since it basically means a time limit, but that's ok.

Each time you win one of these races you "unlock" a new car. (the one you caught). It's a nice mechanic and it is a good break from the tradition racing...here you race with a lot of subgoals along the way (bumping the other car) which is interesting.

After my horrible experience with Medal of Honor:Frontline I decided to "cool off" by playing some Burnout.

This game is STILL fun and yesterday I was able to unlock a few more things. I got a new car (Oval racer, think NASCAR car..) as well as a new pursuit race and things like that. In fact, I played a 5-race championship. I came 2nd the first race, won the 2nd, won the 3rd and came in 2nd on the fourth. This basically meant that I HAD to win the 5th. 200 yards from the finish line I smash into a stupid little van...and was overtaken by two cars. Oh no! I came in 3rd...fortunately it was enough! Yay!

Last night I decided to burn off some stress by playing this for a while. I played a chase game where you have to catch (and bump 10 times) a speeding car. You drive a Police interceptor that is unlocked once you beat the level. Cool!

I also opened up all the Crash mode scenarios. I haven't got gold medals on all of them, so I need to work on that and see what else is unlocked. I'm hoping this game has a lot of wicked and cool vehicles. I remember playing Need for Speed (some old PC version) with the School Bus..it was a riot!

I played this at a friends house in Dec and I was impressed. This game just looks fantastic and the feeling of speed and control are amazing.

I'm really digging this game at the time and I'm looking forwards to some head to head vs. action with a friend.

There is nothing like agressive driving in a save setting, eh?
