A shooter that mixes music with visuals. Definitely an experience.

I had never been able to clear level 4. This game only has 4 levels! (well, "officially"). I knew there was a 5th level that was opened up when you cleared all four and I was really interested in playing it, so today I gave it another try.

People who don't know me might think I was on drugs or something. I was extremely concentrated and VERY good. I was hitting everything, moving the cursor around the screen as if it had its own life. It was like I was my own auto-targetting system, but really fast. Needless to say I cleared the level! Wow! What a feeling!

After that, the game drops you out into the menu. No level 5. Huh? Maybe I need to exit back to the main menu. No level 5. What? Come on!! Did I not do it right? A couple of minutes on the web gave an answer "Must complete levels 1-4 at 100%". A hundred percent what?

You see, whenever you finish a level you get a whole bunch of percentage scores (shot down, something else and "analyzation"). I had 90% analyze on level 1 and 10% on level 4. (the other two where 100%). I guessed that this must be it and proceeded to play level 1 again...piece of cake. I finished it with 10% analyzed. Whoops. Played it again, this time with a different strategy. 100%. Perfect! (note: To get 100% you have to shoot down all the "warps" that take you to the next level...)

Now..back to level 4. Would I be able to repear the miracle? YES!!

Level 5 is sweet. Really nice, long and has some tough bosses... I haven't cleared it yet, though stay tuned!

This is a game that is just wonderful to experience. The way the visuals mix in with the sound is great. I played this quite a bit when it came out (and everyone was raving about it) and I just recently brought out my Dreamcast again. I hope to revisit some games that have been neglected for too long!

If you have a Dreamcast and you don't have Rez..shame on you! Otherwise try to get the PS2 version. It is weel worth it!
